New Years Resolution on Hilton Head Island

Jan. 15, 2009

Hello all!

One of my many New Years resolutions this year is to do a better job telling everyone how great Hilton Head Island is.  I have written in the past about the great lifestyle on the island and how much there is to do.  Most of my favorite things are outdoors activities.  I love the beach, the water, playing golf and just about anything else you can do and enjoy the great outdoors!  I am also a runner and have been for many years.  Hilton Head and Bluffton have numerous races during the year to keep anyone interested in walking or running motivated.  Over the holidays I participated in the annual Turkey Trot and the Jingle Jingle Run.  I managed to motivate (coerce) a few family members into going with me.

Yes, that's me on the left!  Notice we are all wearing shorts.  I spent many years in a climate that I would never be able to wear shorts until May or June.  It is wonderful to be able to run outside and be comfortable and warm.  I should add, in all fairness, that today it is really cold!  It has dropped to the 40's and overnight temperatures are predicted to be in the 20's.  That will not last long, however and a more comfortable range will return.

I would also like to ask anyone who reads this blog to feel free to ask questions about the island.  What would you like to know?

By the way, another resolution was to keep this blog more up to date so look forward to hearing more from me soon!
