Commercial / Development Listings - Where to Get Them

Jun. 9, 2008

Many times agent wonder where to get leads on listings. With Commercial properties it can be even more difficult. I have an interesting place to for you to start. Attend your local planning commission meetings. All developers who plan a project need to get their project approved on a township or county level.

You may no walk out of a meeting with a listing but you may very well get the jump on your competitors and have the opportunity to meet some key people. Make a point of introducing yourself to the project manager and show your support for the project. It may take a while for you to get a listing out of your attendance but you will win in the long run I guarantee.

Keep in mind lots of people attend these meetings including neighbors. Best of all you get to stay on top of what's happening in your part of the country. By the way this works great for residential subdivisions and condo projects as well.
