This my maiden voyage into blogging and I look forward to providing information and to answer any questions related to my 20+ years experience selling real estate in Michigan. The over abundance of negative information on the news and on the web has created a false sense of insecurity for us in northern Michigan. TAAR statistics show that things really are not as bad for us up north in comparison to the southern part of the state.
I would have to say that there are a lot of people who own vacation homes or property in northern Michigan who are worried about job security or have been laid off due to the auto industry. Many of those people are putting their property on the market in anticipation of a longer than average selling time. In addition the lack of buyers from the down state market has hurt sale here in the Traverse City area somewhat.
Despite all the doom and gloom in the real estate and stock market, now is a great time for anyone looking to make a good return on their investment. Unlike the stock market, it is nearly y impossible for a mass sell off. Without buyers the market goes soft and stagnates as we are sort of seeing. Agents in my office are busy with pre-foreclosures and short sales.
It is amazing how little most Realtors know about the foreclosure procedure and how little they really understand about how the system works. So much information is available to anyone who knows were to look. It seem as though almost every email newsletter I get has something about short sales in it.
I guess you have to go where the money is and right now that is in foreclosure properties. Fell free to contact me on any topic you fee is relevant.
