Do You Know Where Your Cheese Is?
The Cheese Has Moved, Do You Know Where Yours Is?
Many have read a little, but profound, book titled "Who Moved My Cheese?", written by Spencer Johnson, M.D. But have you really took the time to ponder over its meaning and to apply to yourself?
Because if you're still doing the same type of business that you did a year ago, six months ago, or heck even last month, you'll be like the hamster on the wheel, spinning fast and going/getting no where.
Our industry has changed, once again. For those who've entered the real estate business within the last 5 years or so, this change slapped a lot of them right out of the market and back into whatever field they came out of. Unless, they were the ones that were toying around with real estate as a second means of income while they kept their main line job in tact. For those of us that have been in the market for 20 plus years, it's even been a hard blow for us. Although we've seen this market swing up and down a few times, I think most will agree, we've not seen anything like this one.
But the fact is that it's still change. There are still people selling and people buying. Our maze is different and thus our cheese has been moved. So, have you found yours yet? |

RE: Do You Know Where Your Cheese Is?
Yes, we have moved our cheese to the Loan Modification market.
We are working with a group of Attorneys, putting together the paper work with the clients and then the attorney do the loan modification for our clients. I feel this is the wave for the next couple of years, until the market stabilizes and we are done with the 5 year ARMS. |

RE: Do You Know Where Your Cheese Is?
My cheese is in new homes!
I have partnered with a builder to work 3 days a week on his townhome community, while also drumming up new clients. I capture the buyers with no realtors who need more than a townhome if not interested in the ones I represent. Being in the industry for more than 15 years, I can definitely say this is a "wake up" call for everyone. |

RE: Do You Know Where Your Cheese Is?
Awesome! I'm involved in the same thing. It's good to hear from others who have made the necessary changes to keep them staying alive in this changed market of ours.
Best wishes to you and continued success riding our real estate tidal wave. :-) |
