Anyone using the new Droid phone yet? Getting the urge to get it, My second choice will be a blackberry due to working with Top Producer. Palm seems to be falling to 3rd place.

Suggestions?

Which service provider has the best coverage in your area? Palm is Sprint, isn't Droid just with Verizon right now? Blackberry I guess you can choose... I love my Palm Pre. Why is that in 3rd? Though I'm not sure if it works with TP as I don't have that, but it has full internet capability so I'd assume it does.

The Droid is suppose to be Verizon's answer to the IPhone. I have the latest Blackberry and it does not hold a candle to the IPhone. I hoping the Droid will. With video emails, your own real estate shows and live virtual open houses the Droid and IPhone will be a must for the real estate agents. Just pick up your phone and send a video email to your client or how about sending your business card electronically and at the same time capture their name, email and phone number and have that automatically put into the data base of your choice with an auto responder sending them the listings you currently have in the price range they are looking in. This all occurs within seconds after they send you a text asking about more information on one of your listings. All of this future technology is here today and easy to set up. Embrace Technology and expand your market.

I just checked out the Droid online and it looks and sounds very good. I've been a Blackberry user for a long time and its been rock steady. But unless it comes out with a new product, its going to end up on the rock pile given the the expanded fuctionality that these new devices (iPhone/Droid) give you. I'm stopping by a Verizon dealer this weekend to check it out. Will let you know soon.

You can do all that with a phone? What types of programs do you need to accomplish that feat?

Thanks. Timely topic for me, as I am past due getting a new phone. I just heard about the Droid and was looking for some feedback on it. I had the Palm Treo, but it kept disconnecting me from my clients when my earring would touch the screen. I am not as tech savvy as I need to be (taking the ePro course right now). Do you think the Droid is something I could handle?

I just purchased the Droid and love it. The only thing I can see right now is the battery life. If you are not careful you can have a lot of applications running in the background and the battery drains rather quiickly. Once I learned to turn off the apps from running in the background, I am able to have full use of the phone for at least 18 hours per day. If you have a Droid and want to see which apps are running in the background go to "settings", then "applications", then "running services". You can turn any of the apps you don't need running all the time off. I check this feature frequently. By the way, I love the ESPN immediate updates for Sports.

Don't rush out and get the "droid" just yet. Let others be the test-pilots. I have the Blackberry Storm and I just got a new software load that makes it very acceptable-almost a Year later!

I hope the "Droid' works for you but Verizon has a tendency toward Proprietary things so an I-Phone it probably won't REALLY be. B!ut hope for the best!

I did get the droid. Its an amazing phone. Built in and free gps, great apps so far and working great. I was a bit scared about the learning curve, but picked it up in a few days

That was my biggest hesitation...it's a new phone with new software! When the Storm first came on the market, my niece immediately bought one, and for the first six months she was constantly having problems.

I don't want to buy something that is going to have problems...I would rather wait a little bit and let Verizon work out all the bugs [provided there are any]. I've had a Blackberry for 2 years and like it, but also liked features that the iPhone had the my crackberry didn't!

I figured Verizon would have an answer to the iPhone, and now they do. I'm going in to Verizon tomorrow and checking it out! Sounds like so far very few problems, but then its only been on the market a short time.
