Beware self-procaimed Experts who dumb things down: why I hate Obama
|
|
Here is my rant: wake up! There is only one reason to dumb-down a complicated concept, and that is to make a sale! I hate, not because he is black, not because he is on the other side of the political fence, not because he won; but because he is right about something that I do not want to know, but cannot avoid: people are stupid.
Ask yourself these questions when you are considering taking the advice of a so-called "Technology Expert" and buying something:
- If he is such an expert, why is he bothering with me?
- Is he trying to convince me that I am stupid, that I need him to succeed
- Is he 'dumbing things down', avoiding my technical questions because he thinks I am stupid, or to make a sale?!
- If it is good, why cant it be explained to where it makes sense to me?
- What is recent, real time proof of his expertise? Does say he is an expert? Why not?
I once had an agent on my group ask:
"Please just break it down for me Barney style"
Then I watched as a list of 'benevolent' vendors offered all sorts of stupid, simple, separate pieces to an online marketing puzzle that I knew would not fit together into a
campaign. I knew it was a loosing battle: I could not get this deal, so I said:
"Barney is for little kids, I thought you were a grownup."
Unfortunately, we are all a little like her: we avoid the truth that we do not want to know:
That is why I have made and completely lost $8,000,000 in the last nine years: I want to tell people the truth, not what they want to hear.
I have a theory (yea an actual opinion imagine that) that the guy you hate the most is the guy that keeps reminding you of something that you already know but are are denying: in other words: we all know the truth when we hear it , whether we admit it or not.
You are in an industry where there are companies who never had a good product or service, NEVER, but they have been around for years, making millions, even billions of dollars by fleecing the 90 percent of you who will not be around next year: wake up!
See, now don't you hate me just a little for saying that, but don't you know that it is true?
Does anybody really think that giving control of our health care to the insurance companies is a good idea? I doubt it: which is why liberals so violently hate conservatives, not because they disagree, but because they know that they are right ; but this rant is not about politics: it is about you:
You should pick your vendors the same way we should all pick a Realtor: if you have a picture of you sitting on your porch with a dog, your target market had better be dog people: because I (55, single, self sufficient, educated) want the most state-of-the art, high-tech Realtor possible. This is what you should ask and do before buying anything:
- What have you done lately? (things change, what you did last year does not matter)
- Why are you better than the other alternatives I have?
- Why are you talking to me like a little child; when I am an adult?
- Do you think I am stupid?
- Show me recent proof of performance, rankings, testimonials: what does have to say about what you do?
- How are you better than these guys that says or are the best?
- How do you make your money? (IE: Where is your bread buttered?)
Some of you people are such turkeys: sorry, but it is true: you have so many letters by your name they do not fit on a business card, , do you really think anybody cares?! It is like putting on your business card:
"I am a turkey, I buy every bill of goods anybody sells me, and I never learn!"
Here is my concept: that the highest complement that any competitor can pay you is to be intimidated by the truth that you tell as to go out of their way to harm you.
Does anybody out there really care about the truth? Let's find out, shall we, we will do a little experiment: here is the truth:
real estate social media marketing Google Search
real estate social media website design Google Search
realtor smo Google Search
realtor sem Google Search
internet advertising consultant Google Search
real estate social media advertising Google Search
According to Google, I may know something about this topic.
Before you buy anything, ask Google. The truth is not good marketing, but I am going to keep telling it.
I feel so much better now, you should try it, join in!

I don't hate Obama. I do believe that there is usually a simple answer to a complex problem and that answer is usually wrong!
When it comes to selecting a vendor to help you create something valuable like your brand, product, or service, the technologies and methodologies they currently know is important. However, what is even more important is whether that vendor is passionate, motivated to learn more, inspired, intelligent, focused, and talented!
Finding people who care and are passionate about your business will make a huge difference in making it successful.
That is just one of the reasons why services like elance, rent-a-coder, guru.com, etc have it all wrong. They start with bidding and a technology platform (i.e. I'm looking for a PHP developer) where as they should be looking for people to join their project for the right reasons!

Yes Brian, but you just can not take these ingredients : internet, poor people looking to make a buck, (not-so) rich people looking to have their side project / pilot project completed - and obtain what you are talking about ("they should be looking for people to join their project for the right reasons" - whatever these are).
Of course there are some passionate freelancers, and they usually have high rates (not so cheap) and lots of good references. This is how you differentiate them. they can be found on elance, guru, RAC, or wherever they feel more confortable. You just can not take the 3 ingredients, mix them and hope your new site will only be visited by a certain kind of clients and a certain kind of freelancers. And it also does not mean these freelance sites you describe as 'terrible' are bad by their very nature. Might have been bad for you. Tough luck. Don't spoil it!
Best.

Perhaps you could find another venue for your political views...there are many of them, whereas this one focuses on real estate.
Thanks...
Boy, I bet God wishes Google was around when He got started!

Frankly Sharlet, I don't give a dam! Your political views are your own business and I truely wish that you would keep them to yourself or vent in another venue where people with similar views can waste each others time. Your rant is an intrusion on my time and I resent that intrusion.
