Trying to decide between an iPhone and a Blackberry. Which do you think is the best for Realtor business?

I have only "played" with an iPhone in a local Apple store, but I liked what I saw then. I have been using PDAs of one sort or another for many years -- I was an early adopter of the first generation Palm Pilot, and I have now been using Blackberry products for about five years. I still prefer Blackberry for a variety of reasons:
-- The email "push" technology that put them on the map in the first place.
-- Easy to use calendar and integrated "to do" functions.
-- Easy sync/backup to my computer.
-- Telenav -- a true GPS navigation system with on-screen maps and audible turn by turn directions, like a Garmin or a Tom Tom. I don't believe that's available yet for iPhone.
-- Good browser tech, with bookmarks and ready access to apps like Pocket Real Estate MLS.
Overall, this is just a great package for me, and I really like the user interface.
but sprint doesn't provide iphone support, any other suggestion?
if you have sprint... Your choices are blackberry, htc and palm pre. It took some getting used to but I now love my palm pre. Excellent email and internet capabilities. Really is a great device. I hesitate to call it 'just a phone' as it is like having a mini computer with me at all times.

Hey Diane
iPhone is what you need bar none. Every agent that has one is the happiest and anyone that doesn't own one wants one. When it comes to applications it has some phenomenal tools/applications with many to be developed in the near future.
It offers everything Bill stated through the blackberry and more (including true navigation system although you do have to pay for it)
Through Sprint either Android or Palm Pre is what I'd recommend or go to AT&T

My opinion, use the one you like. Most people use what they want to get out of a phone and ingore the rest.. I love my palm. The main reason, I don't have to carry around my lockbox key.
But with all the new android phones coming out, that might not be important
Ok, call me crazy but I have both. I have the blackberry curve and the iphone. Yes, I carry 2 different providers.
My iphone rocks! It has so many more features and to me it is more user friendly. I have been a blackberry user for several years, and I did not want a touch screen. Someone in my family had an iphone and during a family gathering they let me "Explore" their phone and I loved it.
I'lm only keeping my blackberry until my contract runs out but for now, my blackberry is the number I give out to customers. When my contract ends, I am switching over the number to the iphone.

Love my iPhone. Whichever device you choose, make sure it has WiFi access. All my contracts with AT&T were up so I went looking for a replacement for my Treo 680. Verizon's BB Storm got ruled out because you actually had to press down on the screen to get it to register your input. Palm Pre was a consideration, but Sprint service isn't consistent enough for my usage patterns.
The only thing that would make my iPhone better is a slideout keyboard.

I debated this for 3 months and finally went to the iPhone. I still have my Verizon Black Berry as a backup for a few more months just to compare.
The iPhone does everything and more that the BlackBerry can with the exception of typing really fast. So it would depend on what you plan to do as always.
Web Browsing on the iPhone is the best, there really is no contest to tell you the truth. I always forget to sync my Supra key and with my blackberry I can't connect to the website to get the code, but no problem with the iPhone.
The speed is also top notch on the iPhone, with 32 gigs of memory I don't have any lag issues. I have over 4000 contact and on my iphone I can find a number in a matter of seconds and with the BB it is always lagging because I have too many contacts.
With the iPhone you can also talk on the phone and surf on the Internet. I've used this quite a lot while talking with clients to look something up like a map or school rating, or something like that. With my BB (I have Verizon so not sure with Sprint & AT&T) I have to hang up the call to surf the Internet.
Hope that helps,
Shaun
