video-ing homes

BTW... This is my Mod 4 assignment, but I'm glad I ran across this, because I left Best Buy about an hour ago purchasing a camera.
I've got some experience in video and audio (I own a recording studio here in Springfield IL), and I've talked to a TON of people, in and out of the business, regarding producing on-line video.
The answer I got more often than not was "Just do it!" No matter what you end up using, you're going to get better over time. You could buy an $800 camera, or a $175 Kodak Zi8 (which I ended up buying.) You'll be bad at it in the beginning, and you'll get better at it as time goes on.
My suggestion is the Kodak Zi8. Compared to the Flip, it has some very nice features like Image Stabilization, and Face Recognition. It has removable memory (SD), a large viewing screen, a Mic Jack, and shoots as high as 1080p, all of which the Flip does not. And it comes in at $174.00. Not shabby.
Hope that was helpful.
