top producer 8i

I have just come back into real estate as a full time career. I downloaded TP8i and am using it however I believe it should have been traded in with the cash for clunkers when it was available. There has to be a contact management program that is easier to use. I have used TP since it was a DOS program so I know that there must be something that won't give me carple tunnel just navigating through copious screens. HELP!
Hey Linda
Welcome back. Here are a few that I am aware of:
http://onjax.com/products/pureagent-crm
http://www.cvent.com/products/event-contact-management.shtml
http://www.thewiseagent.com/service.asp
http://www.realfuturecrm.com/public/article.jsp?page=tour
and of course AgentOffice that is now part of Emphasys http://www.agentofficehq.com/
Unfortunately I would not recommend none of these but they are the only options available.
Follow me on twitter @ListingMoves for future updates.
Warm wishes

try www.sharperagent.com - very easy to use. email me and i will get you a 60 day free trial (30 days offered on the website).
TP 8i is the best out there. Two things you can do in order to make it "part of you":
1. Spend one hour a day learning it. It really isn't that hard...just takes a learning curve that pays off in spades.
2. Get a VA and turn it over to her. Find one who has the program and runs it for other agents. Saves the learning curve for the most part and saves you an enormous amount of time in the long run.
As for "something simpler," there are simpler programs out there, but there are non that will do what TP will do.
It's a beautiful day here on the lake in Reston...hope it's a great day wherever you are, too!

Is TP interactive with Clients ... That happens to be the feature of listingbook that I like the best. My clients like the ability they have to leave me notes and me them and it keeps it orderly and I have a good record tracking system. . Don't get me wrong there are several ways that I would like to see LB improved.
Any thoughts?
Linda, the DOS version of TP was probably a better (certainly cheaper) version than 8i My recommendation is to dump it now, before you build your database and go to Outlook, purchasing any of the variety of add on's that make it look and feel RE friendly...Plus, it will save you lots of money over time...
Linda,
I agree. Top producer 8i, stinks. One would have carpel tunnel after using it for just one day. The screens are way too busy and junked up and way too many clicks to get around. I still use 7i.
You can too. At the login screen just look lower than the login itself and you will find a link to login to 7i. Just like the old days! Works great. I never use 8i. I hate it, but I love 7i.
Hope this helps a bit.

Sorry, my friend. As someone who teaches technology for the CRS 206 technology course and learns from my CyberStars(r), top agents in the US, Canada, Australia and the Bahamas who use technology extensively in their successful businesses, I have never seen any Outlook add on that comes close to the functionality of TP 8i.
I don't own stock in Top Producer; I don't sell Top Producer. I just know what's out there and what works.
As for "saving you lots of money over time," I strongly disagree. If I use the right tools, the ROI is there. Using TP 8i as the foundation of one's prospecting, followup, listing management, contract to closing plans and more results in a very high ROI.
For those who see it as "too complicated" and other excuses, here's a tip: hire a VA to run it for you. She knows the program, uses it in her business with other agents and can do whatever it is you want to do.
During my Webinar for NAR's Learning Library last night, I projected figures for one additional transaction per month ($280,00 sale) that a good VA could result in. The NET to the agent was $31,780. That's after paying the VA some $1,500 per month.
The VA, of course, can do much more than manage your database: run your prospecting campaigns, manage client followup, handle all mailings, do your flyers, enter listings into MLS and place on your Web site, manage your Web site content, handle all your email, coordinate your listings and closings, create and manage your marketing campaigns, take care of your social networking...and more.
I guess I must be tired and grumpy this morning, but I'm tired of agents who make excuses for not running their businesses in an effective, profitable manner. They remind me of myself during my "Polyester Pete" days...a complainer and a whiner, always looking for reasons why something wouldn't work rather than resigning from the debating society and just doing what successful agents around me did. Now, I choose to adopt those methods, strategies and practices adopted by successful agents, those who truly deminstrate professionalism in real estate.
In spite of my snappiness this a.m., it's a beautiful day here on the lake in Reston...hope it's a great day wherever you are, too!

I did not know your a mind reader! I was thinking the same thing. I hear all the time, bad market, no sales, have to cut back. Why cut back on the one thing like Top Producer, that makes you money? I'm having one of my best years ever this year and Top Producer is the main reason.

Amen, Jim! I hear that from "the good ones," i.e. they have systems in place to run their business like a business.
You Da Best...and thanks for your comment!
