Does anybody use an electronic signature when working with contracts sent by email?  If so, what is the cost? Do you think it is valuable to you in your busines?

Thanks.

I just started working with electronic signatures and love it so far. It is a little expensive however it's already paying for it's self. I am doing a deal right now where the sellers out of the country on vacation until September, my buyers are on vacation until July the 6th and the seller's agent is also on vacation until July the 6th. LOL as you can see it would be impossible to get signatures without eletronic signatures.

DocUSign? I had one transaction where I wish something like this had been around. My buyer was flying around the country and we had to depend on fax machines at airports and hotels to pull it off - 13 Counter Offers.

But so far that's been the only transaction where I needed it. Otherwise, it would pay for itself as another agent here already noted.

I have been using docuSign for the last couple of weeks. It took me some time to get use to but I think I am doing much better at getting the one document to the different signers now. At first it was touch and go :)

However, this week I had to have the contract on a Short Sale sent back to the buyer for hand signature and then faxed to the title company. That was my first experience with it not being seemless. I had heard that banks sometimes do that.

Hi Susan,

Glad that you're liking DocuSign, and I'm sorry you've had a non-seamless experience. Do you know why the contract got sent back to the buyer for hand signature and then faxed to the title company?

We're working directly with banks, FHA, and other groups to ensure that electronic signatures are accepted (because they're legal!)

Belinda, Cyndi, Susan - Thanks for sharing your experiences with electronic signature, which helps close business faster. As Cyndi pointed out, in a situation with counter offers, an electronic signature is key.

:)

Hope you ladies have a wonderful Fourth of July!

Hi Susan and the DocuSign person, I had the same thing happen with a regular sale this week. It seems to be different with each lender. This is my first deal with DocuSign and I really like it. I hope that the banks will get more comfortable with it so I can use it for most of my transactions.

I have been using DocuSign for the past two years on approximately 30 transactions. In just 2 cases did the lender want original signatures and 1 of those we did at closing. Aside from the positive feedback I receive from my peers for the quality of the contracts I write, the speed of which I can introduce various documents to a transaction has proven effective as a strategy to be a deal-maker. The recent upgrade to DocuSign is extremely user friendly!

I would lkie to understand more about Docusign. What is the cost of DocuSign? Does each new buyer/seller client need to have their own account, or do they work off of mine account as their real estate agent?
