What is "Ask the Experts"?

"Ask the Experts" is a Group at RealTown.com. The purpose of this group is for people to discuss answers to Real Estate related questions. The questions can be posted by anyone -- RealTown member or not. They are usually questions posed by Real Estate Professionals or Consumers. This is a good opportunity to showcase your expertise.

Where do the questions come from?

Questions are usually questions asked by Real Estate Professionals or Consumers via the "Ask The Experts" link on RealTown.com. If you wish to "Ask the Experts" a question, submit it here.

Who are the "Experts"?

RealTown experts are experienced real estate professionals. These real estate experts are successful real estate agents, real estate brokers, real estate attorneys, and real estate authors. Any RealTown member can post a response to the "Ask the Experts" group, and as you post more valid responses, the more chances you have to become an expert. Expert responses are posted right away, as Member responses are moderated before they are released and posted. Experts also have an Expert badge next to their name.

How do I become an Expert?

The more good answers you submit, the more chance you have of becoming an expert. Experts are chosen by RealTown admins on a case by case basis. Once you are an expert, you will have an Expert badge next to your name when you post to the "Ask the Experts" group, and your posts will not require moderation before displaying online.

How does "Ask The Experts" work?

When a question is submitted, an email goes out across the RealTown real estate network to the first-rate real estate professionals who make up the RealTown experts. If one of our experts is able to answer your question, you will receive a reply by email.

Does anyone know of a product to help the self employed get financed. My clients were pre-approved yet when it came to light, during job verification prior to closing, that they are business owners, the loan went south! They have owned the business for less than a year having moved from another State. Help please??

Here is my rant: wake up! There is only one reason to dumb-down a complicated concept, and that is to make a sale! I hate, not because he is black, not because he is on the other side of the political fence, not because he won; but because he is right about something that I do not want to know, but cannot avoid: people are stupid.

Ask yourself these questions when you are considering taking the advice of a so-called "Technology Expert" and buying something:

If he is such an expert, why is he bothering with me?

Is he trying to convince me that I am stupid, that I need him to succeed

Is he 'dumbing things down', avoiding my technical questions because he thinks I am stupid, or to make a sale?!

If it is good, why cant it be explained to where it makes sense to me?

What is recent, real time proof of his expertise? Does say he is an expert? Why not?

I once had an agent on my group ask:

"Please just break it down for me Barney style"

Then I watched as a list of 'benevolent' vendors offered all sorts of stupid, simple, separate pieces to an online marketing puzzle that I knew would not fit together into a
campaign. I knew it was a loosing battle: I could not get this deal, so I said:

"Barney is for little kids, I thought you were a grownup."

Unfortunately, we are all a little like her: we avoid the truth that we do not want to know:

That is why I have made and completely lost $8,000,000 in the last nine years: I want to tell people the truth, not what they want to hear.

I have a theory (yea an actual opinion imagine that) that the guy you hate the most is the guy that keeps reminding you of something that you already know but are are denying: in other words: we all know the truth when we hear it , whether we admit it or not.

You are in an industry where there are companies who never had a good product or service, NEVER, but they have been around for years, making millions, even billions of dollars by fleecing the 90 percent of you who will not be around next year: wake up!

See, now don't you hate me just a little for saying that, but don't you know that it is true?

Does anybody really think that giving control of our health care to the insurance companies is a good idea? I doubt it: which is why liberals so violently hate conservatives, not because they disagree, but because they know that they are right ; but this rant is not about politics: it is about you:

You should pick your vendors the same way we should all pick a Realtor: if you have a picture of you sitting on your porch with a dog, your target market had better be dog people: because I (55, single, self sufficient, educated) want the most state-of-the art, high-tech Realtor possible. This is what you should ask and do before buying anything:

What have you done lately? (things change, what you did last year does not matter)

Why are you better than the other alternatives I have?

Why are you talking to me like a little child; when I am an adult?

Do you think I am stupid?

Show me recent proof of performance, rankings, testimonials: what does have to say about what you do?

How are you better than these guys that says or are the best?

How do you make your money? (IE: Where is your bread buttered?)

Some of you people are such turkeys: sorry, but it is true: you have so many letters by your name they do not fit on a business card, , do you really think anybody cares?! It is like putting on your business card:

"I am a turkey, I buy every bill of goods anybody sells me, and I never learn!"

Here is my concept: that the highest complement that any competitor can pay you is to be intimidated by the truth that you tell as to go out of their way to harm you.

Does anybody out there really care about the truth? Let's find out, shall we, we will do a little experiment: here is the truth:

According to Google, I may know something about this topic.

Before you buy anything, ask Google. The truth is not good marketing, but I am going to keep telling it.

Hi

I wanted to post a problem that I had with a web program that I joined, Michael Russer's Online Domination( in New Jersey). I wrote my post, and I thought I had done it right, but I cant find it anywhere. I wanted to ask you and make sure that I had followed the rules. I have a problem with the way he treats a "client". and I wanted feedback from other members on this. Did I just submit this incorrectly?

I had a plumber out yesterday who recommended a tankless water heater over a traditional tank. The cost was almost twice as much however he said the tax break and the water savings was worth it.
Is anyone using a tankless water heater? At 4k - 5k it will be a while before I purchase one but it appears to be the way to go.
