The DOJ vs. NAR Final Judgment - a Win-Win?
|
|
Some claim that the proposed Final Judgment settling the antitrust case brought by the Department of Justice (DOJ) against NAR was a win for NAR, others claim it a win for DOJ. How do you see it?

I feel like it's a win for NAR as far as the MLS is concerned. The DOJ finally understands what the MLS is all about. Agents work very hard to populate the MLS and these lead generation companies are using that data to market for leads and sell them back to the agents.
I remember when Realtor.com sold leads as well, but I don't think they are doing that anymore. However, the MLS is still a central piece of their business model and they are not practicing real estate as defined by the DOJ.,

Hi everyone,
As soon as we got the word that an agreement between NAR and the DOJ had been reached, John Reilly and I read the documents 3 times, got out the camera and began the process of discussing and taping. It took us 4 hours to get through it and it is available at:
http://InternetListingDisplay.RealTown.com
Our objective is to assist you in the conversation and discussion in your offices, with your Boards of Directors, with your management. If we have enough interest, we will create a DVD with this information for distribution.
Print or open the documents and follow along with John and I. I promise if you do, you will have a very good understanding of this long awaited agreement. We will also set up a RealTown Group for your insight and participation.
We don't think there is any place on the Internet where you can go at this moment, for such a comprehensive conversation on this subject.

Do you really want to know what Saul thinks of the proposed Final Judgment in the
case of the DOJ vs. NAR?
You say you don't have 4 hours to go through a video discussion of the judgment line
by line at http://InternetListingDisplay.RealTown.com
Well, here's a 6 minute wrap-up -
