I have a gift for you...... Every year about this time, the prickly pear cactus yield gorgeous purple pears that can be made into wonderful jelly. The prickly pears are one of those things I'd been taking for granted until my friend, Fran Thorsen got attacked! The whole incident led to my offer to do a cooking class on making jelly (is that sort of like making lemonade from lemons?). Daughter Dawn thought the whole thing hysterical as the words cooking and Joeann Fossland are rarely used in the same sentence! Be that as it may, we gathered on Saturday and turned 50 pounds of cactus into the delicious delicacy of the desert!
