Today, we'll look at Web 2.0 & The Consumer-Driven Wants. Although it may not be time for you to get all of these tools, the knowledge of what is available and what your competition is using, gives you the edge. You may want to plan to include these into a future plan and budget.

3. Web 2.0
The Internet has been used for information gathering since it's inception, but, now, we are seeing the concept of community becoming a more integral part of the expectations of users. As this expands, the sharing of information through interactive means, such as blogs, becomes preferable to posting static information. People who engage their prospects are finding it gives them an edge. Some of the ways to jump on this bandwagon are by creating a Blog, creating more video and using it in creative ways, joining listservs and communities that will let you get to know people and build your online presence. - MP3 Players & Podcasts - Create Podcasts on your listings! Download podcasts from www.iTunes.com on real estate and sales training My Fossland’s Forums has archived MP3 Files from previous calls
- Communities - Both www.MySpace.com and www.YouTube.com are sites you should be aware of. If you are not familiar with www.RealTown.com you'll want to subscribe to their newsletter and check out all the articles
- Blogs - Set yours up in 30 minutes! www.RealTown.com and ActiveRain are both free platforms.
- RSS Feeds - allow you to follow the blogs and information you are interested in and allow others to tap into your content easily!
- Agent Rating - Consumers love this! Post your information and testimonials at www.ILoveMyAgent.org for no cost
4. Consumer-Driven Wants
- Video, Video, Video
- Mapping - Start with Google Earth. A free download at www.Google.com
- One to One - Consumers want to know what's in it for them. This site offers branded marketing to connect with the consumer in an emotional way.
