End of The Year Tax Tips

1. Maximize Expenses
This week, purchase everything you will be needing for your office. I usually will stock up on ink for the printer, buy a case or two of paper, etc. If you are thinking of a new computer or camera, now is a good time to do that.
- You could sign up for educational courses (become an e-PRO, a SRS or a ACRE)
- You could prepay Virtual Assistant services.
- Pay your WCR, CRS, or other Dues for 2007
- Pre-Register for Conferences you know you will be attending
- Or for Coaching (I offer clients a 10% discount on prepay as well-so they save on my services and save taxes)
- Take a look at your business plan and budget for 2007....(WHAT?????You don't have a plan yet? For $20 you can get my Awesome Year Plan, and several other cool tools AND have the $20 be donated to CARE). ...and prepay or purchase things like postcards or other marketing materials. Some advertising media, like Homes magazines, will give you a prepay discount

2. Give to Charity and Maximize Tax Credits
Every state has different credits available. Ask your tax accountant. Here in Arizona, we can donate $1000 to private schools and it gives me a chance to support Lily's school! We can also give $400 to the public schools.
In addition in most states there are some energy credits that apply (we got a new hot water heater that is more energy efficient!)
If you've had a great year (or even would just feel good to spread around a little of what you have) and can put some of your largess back into the world...consider a donation to CARE or some other group that resonates with you. Giving back primes the Law of Attraction pump!
