Drying The Nets- Carolyne Lederer
Hi Joeann,
Just read your blog portion:
Dr. Steven Covey talks about “sharpening the saw”. He recommends taking an hour a day for making sure that your physical , emotional , mental and spiritual needs are met. Maybe taking an hour a day is beyond your reach at the moment. Then what small steps can you take to improve your energy level and vitality?
I recently read someplace, and I wish I could recall where --- someone wrote, making reference to the fishermen in the Bible, who weren't catching any fish --- Jesus came along and told them "not to forget to dry their nets." Apparently, says I (not knowing anything much about net fishing procedures) nets that are over-used and under-rested and not allowed to dry out sufficiently in the sun, so they are ready to use again, rot.
So, yours truly here decided that Jesus must have been really saying "we need to rest." A parable. Without the proper rest (do I know what I'm talking about!) the body doesn't heal well, and often strains the immune system to the breaking point.
So, I decided that since I always feel compelled to "be busy" all the time - can't just sit and do nothing - rofl - that it's time to "dry my nets." That was an inspirational moment for me. A real AHA! moment, actually.
I have always been a huge "visualizer," and I could fill books with miracles, one after another, that sustained me during the time when I thought I'd never get through it all.
I'm a big believer in planting seed in fertile soil. Friends are fertile soil, and anything we can all do to help one another, is like planting a beautiful garden and watching it bloom. I also believe in tithing. We get back more than we ever can give... I never would have survived if I hadn't kept watering my mental garden and giving as best I could.
At my real estate site, my link that says: Carolyne's Clients Speak at the top of the page, gave me wonderful memories to cling to on the down days.
Like I say on my web site:
