Jan. 26, 2009 - Single Daily Action

I hope your 2009 has gotten off to a good start.

Now, more than ever it is important to be taking care of yourself and doing things that will keep your attitude on the right course.

Is there some self-care you need to schedule?

If it’s been a bad day, perhaps this short video will put it into perspective! Thanks Sandi Foree for sending this to me to share.

Single Daily Action

I am into SIMPLE this year. I asked you a few weeks ago what one word described what you wanted for this year.

Mine was RELAX. Did you pick yours?

Today, I have another simple way to stay on track:

What single action in business

and what single action in your personal life

would make the most difference if you did it every day?

The on a sticky note (or a whole bunch of them) Write those 2 actions.

Look at them as you go through your day. Have fun.

Jan. 21, 2009 - Fun in Los Cabos. A WorldVentures DreamTrip!

The Top 10 Reasons I loved
my
WorldVentures DreamTrip to Los Cabos

Here’s a glimpse into our fun on the sunset dinner cruise in front of Los Cabos’s Window to the World.

If you want to see the rest pictures, they are on Dawn’s Facebook page
MY 10 REASONS FOR LOVING THIS TRIP……

    1. The price…at $269 per person for 5 days, 4 nights……. it can’t be beat
    2. The Royal Solaris Resort was really nice and all inclusive- I didn’t have to carry money; the food, the drinks, even the tips were included!
    3. The kids loved the mini club- activities all day long. They had a waterslide and lots of activities so we could go veg and read by the ocean.
    4. The price! I love being able to travel affordably!
    5. The beach was beautiful and uncrowded and we took long walks!
    6. The friendliness of everyone we met!
    7. The whales frolicking off the shore!
    8. The flying bat mantas jumping, being chased by dolphins! The girls swam with the dolphins.
    9. The value for the price (or did I mention that already?)
    10. The new friends!

My business plan for 2009 includes a trip every month this year. I have another DreamTrip scheduled for next month to the Caribbean with my brother, Andy, and his wife, Judy! WorldVentures is about “Making a living….. Living!”

Are you ready for a vacation? Where are you going next? How long has it been since you’ve been on vacation? Isn’t it time?

Jan. 19, 2009 - Counting Your Blessings

When was the last time you counted your blessings? I know, you probably have some awareness of how many things you have to be grateful for, but what if, for a whole day, you took a little notepad or note in your Outlook and actually recorded all your blessings. Maybe starting out with waking up above ground, having food in the fridge, having people in your life who love you. As the day goes on, keep adding to the list. I am glad we have 80 degree weather in Tucson today. I am glad we are getting a new President and administration. I think my list may top 100 by the end of the day. Sometimes, it’s just the simple things that can make a BIG difference! How many blessings can you count today?

By the way, this is where the Law of Attraction starts!

Tuesday’s Question

What do you need to do to disrupt your life? Or is the status quo perfect?

Jan. 6, 2009 - Choose a Word for The Year!

I am either on the plane or on the beach in Cabo San Lucas as you read this. I’m still celebrating the holidays! Gosh it’s been 3 weeks of relax and have fun! I gave the whole family a DreamTrip to Los Cabos in Mexico and we are just enjoying each other and the unlimited food and drink! That should send me back to the Y for exercise next week, but this week, indulge it is! I don’t know about you, but I love the fresh slate a new year brings.

Two books I have found intriguing in the past few months are The Four Hour Workweek and Eat, Pray & Love. While they are very different, both authors share how they are designing the life that they want, rather than taking the old notions of how it should be. How inspiring to read how to live an inspired life, rather than an ordinary one. I’m throwing my hat in the ring for enjoying an inspired life in 2009. How about you?

Simplify: One Word

Is your life over-complicated? If you have you struggled with your business planning and made it so complicated it doesn’t get completed or, if it does, it gets put away after completion and doesn’t ever become a useful tool…. Here is an easy way to stay focused in 2009: choose just ONE!

What I mean is to choose a single word for 2009 that will be your guiding star. My word is Relax . So much of my work on my own life and with clients these days is guided by The Law of Attraction. For most of my life, I have planned, strived and fretted about attaining my goals. All of this has often made it harder, not easier to get where I want to go. This year, I will RELAX. This will allow me to be more flexible. To take advantage of the downstream current, instead of paddling upstream frantically!

I asked the question recently of my Facebook friends and some of their words for the year are:

• Focus

• Attitude (positive)

• Clarify

• Enjoy

• Connect

• Flexibility

There is no right answer here. What is it that you want for your year? Use it as your guiding star to measure whether you are aligned with what is really important to you.
Or, if you really do love the detail of planning and haven’t done it yet, you can invest $12 for the best little plan around. The Awesome Year Plan has 35 pages to really get you thinking!

Clarity and Intention

I got sent a wonderful link by my good friend, Marcia Reynolds to Five Big Questions by Michael Bungay Stanier, Senior Partner, Box of Crayons. These are a wonderful way to get the year started off with some clarity and intention!

Tech Tip

I recently installed Xobni for Outlook thanks to my friend and fellow GRI Instructor, Rob Gibbs. It’s way cool!!! Xobni makes it easy to find email, contacts, and attachments in Outlook. Xobni, the reverse spelling of inbox, uses powerful email analytics to reveal previously unknown facts like each person’s shared contacts and their response time and volume of mail to you.

Learn more at www.xobni.com/learnmore/share or download Xobni now to see where I rank in your inbox.

You can download Xobni here.

Borrowed Wisdom

"When you are inspired by some great purpose,
some extraordinary project,
all your thoughts break their bonds.
Your mind transcends limitations,
your consciousness expands in every direction,
and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world.
Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive,
and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far
than you ever dreamed yourself to be."

--- attributed to the ancient seer, Maharishi Patanjali
