Dec. 16, 2008 - Holiday Tuesday tips

Lily told Santa she wanted her family to have the best Christmas ever! I feel so blessed and I love having MOST of the family here (and wish those east coast folks would get smart and move out to Tucson! Hint, hint). Lily looked like she was part of the Claus family when she got her picture taken in red velvet. She had written a note to Santa Claws !!!!

I hope you are having as much fun as I am preparing for the holidays. One of the decisions I made a few years ago was to give ME as the present to those I was gifting instead of spending a lot of money in the stores for things people would soon forget or didn’t need. What I mean is that I either make the presents or create an event that we can enjoy together.

This year I have been busy:

  • Making jars and jars of prickly pear jelly that is yummy and healthy.
  • Treating some girlfriends to a spa adventure at a local resort, Westward Look’s Sonoran Spa, where on the 3rd Tuesday of each month they have a charity event that includes three 20 minutes treatments, so we’ll have fun together and have some money to a good cause!
  • Making personalized calendars for my family members with their family dates and pictures. These take me 3-4 hours each to make, but it is so much fun going through the pictures for the year and reliving some memories. I’ve been doing this for almost 10 years now and I have saved each year as sort of a scrapbook to commemorate all that went on that year.
  • And then (I am so excited about this) my gift to the immediate family is a DreamTrip to Los Cabos! I’ll get to spend 5 days with my kids and grandkids on the beach playing the first week of January!

Most of all, I decided that my holidays are going to be focused on connecting and enjoying all the people I care about and love. I don’t think most people I know need more things! And this year, a gift of yourself (maybe a coupon book ) would probably be a much more treasured gift. I would love to hear what you are doing this year. Post someththing here for us to see. I love new ideas that create connection and memories.

Have wonderful Holidays!!!! May you be surrounded by love! If you need something to make you smile, my friend Tom Plant sent me that piece of pure joy! Take a look and you’ll giggle too! Remember what my friends at the Internet Crusade say: It’s the little things that make a difference. :>)

Remember…what you focus on expands! At www.tut.com come they say, “Thoughts become things…choose the good ones.” ®

Tech Tips

1. This is a great way to send out a message to up to 25 people a day! Check it out at www.DialMyCalls.com. There is a complimentary account that has advertising with it or you can upgrade to being able to send more and send without advertising, but it’s a great little service to leave quick messages!

2. You can www.elfyourself.com again this year courtesy of OfficeMax. Or “elf” a kid and delight them!

3. Or send someone a greeting that turns DisneyLand into theirs (but this one made Lily cry when she found out she wasn’t really getting to go…and it wasn’t REALLY going to happen)

4. Don’t forget the REW special: Right now there is a free 3 Day trial of these learning modules and a special ½ price deal that will only last through the end of the year.. Advanced Technology Training - The REAL ESTATE WEBOGRAPHER™ (REW™) Certification provides profitable, consumer-facing solutions, education and training through a series of interactive online courses. If you are an ePRO already, this is a great next step. (and if you aren’t an ePRO yet….do this today!)

How Are You Taking care of YOU???

I think it is more important this time of the year with all that is going on, to be conscious of taking great care of yourself. We like to call it in coaching EXTREME SELF-CARE! Ask yourself what one action you could take today to honor yourself? Better yet, design 10 Delicious Daily Habits to daily indulge in 10 ways of giving yourself little bursts of energy through doing small things that make you feel great. Simple things like: drinking 8 glasses of water, hugging 10 people, listen to the sound of your child’s laughter, a bubble bath…what are yours? Make a list and celebrate YOU each day. You deserve it and it doesn’t have to be any more to do. Here’s a form with which to play and track your habits.

Getting Ready for the BEST Year EVER!!!???

My gifted daughter, Coco Fossland, has just offered an incredible 7-DAY MANIFESTATION JOURNEY, as a GIFT TO all who resonate with the idea of becoming powerful in manifesting their intentions. It is not a program for dabbling in, but if you want to indulge in some powerful results from manifesting (and, perhaps, understanding why it hasn’t been working so far!), all the materials (recordings of the calls and handouts and daily exercises) are still available. You’ll need to be willing to commit to a couple of hours a day for 7 days. I know you might be saying…no way I could do that right now, but if I told you this could literally change your life for 2009, would 14 hours be too big a price to pay? It’s up to you. Go take a look here and jump in if this is the right thing for you right now.

In preparation for this, and to help people begin the process of manifestation right away, Coco invited people to do the following:

1. Write down 10 things you already love about your life.
2. Write down 10 things you would love to have in your life in the next year.
3. Ask yourself, what thoughts or beliefs would you have to give up in order to believe
wholeheartedly that ALL 10 THINGS you wrote down in #2 will be manifested?

If working on this sounds like something that would support you, go check it out!

Save Time and Money and Travel Smart

Speaking of journeys, travel is one of the top things on my list of things I love to do! I am so excited to have and be able to offer you a site that saves time and money! Next time you need to travel, save money and time by booking your hotel, flights and cars through my travel site. The mega search will save you from having to visit several sites. Register as a preferred client and you will reap even more benefits!

Do you CARE????

Giving back makes me feel good and I know it keeps a wonderful energy circulating. I am excited that the www.WebWomenGivingCircle.com is back and we have several exciting projects that will create a win/win. In the next couple of weeks, we’ll be releasing the opportunity to get a beautiful meditation CD that will generate all profits to CARE. You WILL want one of these!

And, we are working on a project right now to sell 1000 jars of prickly pear jelly! Right now, we need a little help. We can raise more money if we can get ingredients donated. We have the prickly pear juice that has been lovingly (and in some cases, painfully when those prickly pear cactus spines find a home in one’s hand!) harvested!

What we need is:

  • Sugar
  • Canning jars
  • Pectin
  • Lemon juice

If you know of anyone who would donate any of these items (maybe your brother-in-law is a grocer or owns the Ball Canning Company-6 Degrees of separation), please let Frances Flynn Thorsen know. If you are in Tucson and want to help with the canning, packing or shipping, we need that too! Or if you want to buy some for friends for Christmas, let us know.

Magi Reports and My new BFF*, Sami

In case you missed this when it went out 3 weeks ago:

One of the highlights of my Business Re-Invention Retreat was the Magi Reports that Sami Frazier provided. I had not heard of The Book of Destiny Reports but, after seeing my own was thrilled when Sami offered to provide them as a gift to each participant. We had a choice of a Relationship (Love) Report, which examines the influences between two people or the Year Forecast which goes from your last birthday to your next. The Magi reports uses an interesting card system based on your birthday to give information about your past, your present and your future. Those of us in the retreat found the reports amazingly accurate, interesting and fun. These would make a great addition to your business planning process or a gift for the holidays for another (or yourself!). If you are interested, you can order here or for more information, contact Sami here.

*BFF-If you haven’t heard this term-I learned it from Lily: It means Best Friends Forever and the cool thing is, these days, you can have MANY “Best” Friends!

Dec. 10, 2008 - Books for Success in 2009

What’s on your bookstand? Please share the books you have found the best of 2008? Let's make a list here and then I'll add the to the bookstore.

Here are two by two women who I respect and admire you'll want to get right now to position you for success in 2009. I know they are going to make the Best of 2009 List :

My amazing friend, Margaret Rome’s book, Real Estate The Rome Way, is ready to be ordered. I’ve gotten to read the pre-press edition and you are going to highlight and bookmark her great ideas throughout the book. If you haven’t had the opportunity to know (and be touched by) Margaret Rome personally, this book is the next best thing! This amazing woman shares the secrets and systems that have made her one of the best agents in the country. Whether you are a new agent or an experienced one, the gems and straight forward advice this book gives will help you succeed faster. With 11% of agents doing 89% of the business, you want to know what they know!

And my other amazing friend, Bernice Ross has just released Real Estate Dough. It was the top selling book at the NAR Convention this year. She also has developed a really fun card game, also called Real Estate Dough that will help you hone your real estate negotiating skills.
