Danny,
I'd hug this guy if I could! And I'm sure he's right and that Dominion hates that this is more than strictly a dollars and sense discussion!

Julie, that was a great article indeed and concisely sums up this fight. Dominion sees it through a spreadsheet, merely another move to increase their profits and push their stock even higher. Given their influence in Richmond, Dominion simply thought they would impose their will on their ratepayers and all Virginians for that matter. This does affect us all as Dominion is one of the nation’s largest producers of energy, emitting roughly 33 million metric tons of carbon annually. This makes Dominion the 20th largest polluter in the S&P 500. If Dominion were a country it would rank 34th in the world in terms of pollution!
I work with Virginians for Sensible Energy Policies in opposing Dominion's proposed transmission line plan. The bottom line is that Dominion refuses to provide any proof regarding their claims of rolling blackouts. Instead they are spending ratepayers money to scare people with these claims. In the final weeks of January, Dominion spent nearly a half million dollars on misleading full-page advertisements in The Washington Post alone.
I would urge everyone to use the resources and research on my organization website and to contact the Dominion board members to tell them we don't want or need these power towers through our backyard. Thanks.

Walker,
Thanks for your post and all the information you've provided. And more resources are definitely better! Another great reswource is the Piedmont Environmental Council.
Thanks for taking on this fight!
