March 30, 2007 General Membership Meeting

Mar. 30, 2007
Categorized in: Meetings

Today, for those who did not attend, was the 1st quarterly general membership meeting at the Wyndham Hotel in Costa Mesa. It was a great session with our featured speaker, DICK BETTS, SmartPhone Guru extraordinaire! About 60 CRS members were there.

After some general announcements by Emily Link, current President of the SoCalCRS chapter, she introduced Dick (photo, left), who spent several hours teaching us all the stuff you can, and should, do with your SmartPhone (Treo, etc.). It was a terrific session, with too much learning to try to get into it here.

One of the things folks learned was how to set up a business card and then BEAM it to another SmartPhone (see photo, right).

For more information from Dick, check out his website. And he is open to emails from CRS members who have questions or need help. He is a veritable FONT of information. Sorry you missed it.

Lunch was great as well, held outdoors on the patio overlooking the pond. Shown here are several CRS members at my table - (from Left to Right) Donna Sutton (Area VP for Orange County), Gina LaPLaca (2007 President-Elect, NorCal CRS), and Diane Rath (Past President, SoCalCRS, Strategic Committee Planning Committee).

The next meeting will be held in Santa Barbara (what a fabulous place for a long weekend!). Hope to see you there!

Jeff (Area VP - San Diego)

Going to Sell-a-Bration?

Jan. 29, 2007
Categorized in: Feedback

I am not attending Sell-a-Bration this year, for a variety of reasons. But I expect a number of you are.

This is an invitation for those of you who attend to post some feedback and comments about the convention when you return. This will help members who don't go  learn some things or perhaps be inspired to attend in the future. Your post might be about the learnings in one or more of the sessions, or just general comments.

I hope to hear from you!

BTW Be sure to put the San Diego CRS members' Coffee Chat

on February 13 from 10 - 11:30 on your calendar.

More News Coming in 2007

If you have visited here before, I'm sure you've noticed that there isn't much activity here...yet. Stay tuned, though, since I will be adding things more regularly once we are past the holidays and into the new year.

There will be news about some activities we will be doing specifically for the San Diego area to make sure everyone knows what's happening with CRS, to get other involved, and continue to promote the designation and SoCalCRS.

If you have any thoughts at this point about what you, as a current or prospective member, would like to see here, please don't hesitate to let me know - you can send a private email or simply post your thoughts. And if you personally would like to get more involved in the organization, please let me know as well - there are lots of opportunities.

Have a great holiday season! See you in 2007!

Jeff
