Home Inspections

Posted at 4:36 PM on Aug. 18, 2006

Home inspections are for the Buyer. The warranty if any is for the buyer. Regardless of who pays for the inspection the process is critical to a smooth home acquistion process. The Realtor should not endorse, specifically recommend and should not be affiliated in any way to any Home Inspection company.

The relationship should be between the inspector or inspectors and the buyer. The buyer should address with the inspector what is and is not covered as companies vary in both inspection and warranty scope of coverage.

For our area, we have a list of home inspection companies That we are aware of listed on our web page under the "useful links page".  We encourage Buyers to make a determination of which company they wish used prior to the home selection process.
