Carlsbad Things to Do - Visit the Carlsbad Village Faire on November 4

The Carlsbad Village Faire is coming to town!

Our country's largest one-day outdoor fair will be held next Sunday, November 4 (cool it's my birthday then too! Maybe I should treat myself). Read more about this event and plan to attend - what a great way to shop for the holidays, birthdays, or just to better enjoy your home.

Carlsbad has a terrific assortment of outdoor events for visitors and residents. This may be one of the best. Don't miss it!

Flowers Flowers Everywhere

It seems like everyone around the country is having wintry weather - ice storms in the MidWest and New England, nasty storms in the Northwest, heavy snows in Denver, etc. Even San Diego has had quite a bit of cold weather - down into the upper 30s at night and snow in the nearby mountains (which you can see from the freeway)

While it is still pretty green here, and there are some flowers out (we have lots of Bird of Paradise in our yard), this kind of weather makes me yearn for warmer spring days, especailly since I am not a big fan of cold weather. All of this reminds me of a great place to visit if you are a flower fan.

The Flower Fields here in Carlsbad are spectacular (and open in just about 2 months). It is worth a vist. There are acres of ranunculas (my porr attempt at photography does not do this place justice but you get the idea), as well as a beautiful rose garden, and more.

The Flower Fields are only open until May so make plans to visit if you are around. They are located just off the 5 at the Palomar Airport Road exit, about .1 miles east.

Brief Photo Tour of Carlsbad

I am trying out some new software that creates photo tours of neighborhoods and homes I have listed, using my own photos.

Here is a BRIEF tour of Carlsbad - my first - so the photos need to be improved. Let me know what you think of this for marketing purposes either for listings OR for sharing information with people relocating to the area. I can create longer tours as well, plus change the music and the manner in which the camera moves.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

More Things to do in San Diego - Part 2

Late last night I decided to write a bit more on things to do in San Diego (actually some things that are outside the county but nearby) after looking at some of the pics on my website and doing some updating. Take a look in Fans of Coastal SanDiego to learn about Mt. Palomar, the wine country in Temecula, Julian (the apple pie place), and the Anzo Borrego State Park in the desert about 2 hours inland. There is a great picture taken from atop Mt. Palomar on a cloudy day - awesome!

Things to do in San Diego - Part 1

I just updated my other blog, Fans of Coastal SanDiego, with a post on stuff to do in San Diego (for now, beaches, restaurants and Quail Botanical Gardens). Since there is so much, I will be adding to this topic regularly (and as I try out things myself). Take a look!. And if you want some other resources, visit my website.

Above is a view of some popular beach restaurants in Cardiff - you can enjoy the ocean views and the surfers while you dine. The Beach House (upstairs) is a terrific place for appetizers and drinks to watch the sun set! Better views (and I think food) than downstairs and a bit more casual - first come first served, however!

Most, if not all, communities have a website of information for residents and visitors - things to do, places to visit, hotels, and more. You can see the list of sites for the primary communities I service by visiting my website (see Area Information), but here are a few that may be of interest. If you are thinking about relocating here, or going to, I would definitely check out these sites - you will learn lots about the different areas that may interest you. I can also provide further information.
