Getting the Word Out

Getting the word about about my blog is important to me. The more folks who know about it, the more who will learn about relocation and how to deal with the issues they may be confronting, and things they should consider when selling and buying during the relocation process.

From the beginning my intent has been to create a source of information that relocating homeowners could refer to for help before and during their relocation. And I continue to seek ways to get the word out about relocation.

One of the new ways I am marketing my relocation blog is through listing it in directories. A new site I have just joined is
RSSHugger, whose goal is to bring bloggers and readers together. Marketing my blog this way gets it in front of more folks who can benefit from the information, as well as providing readers with more great sources of on-line information.

The Internet is a terrific source of information for homeowners and would-be buyers. RSSHugger is another way to spread the word on what is available for those who need help.

Introducing Snap Shots from Snap.com

I just installed a nice little tool on this site called Snap Shots that enhances links with visual previews of the destination site, interactive excerpts of Wikipedia articles, MySpace profiles, IMDb profiles and Amazon products, display inline videos, RSS, MP3s, photos, stock charts and more.

Sometimes Snap Shots bring you the information you need, without your having to leave the site, while other times it lets you "look ahead," before deciding if you want to follow a link or not.

Should you decide this is not for you, just click the Options icon in the upper right corner of the Snap Shot and opt-out.

New Blog on MOLD

Andy Konopacki, President of VM3 Environmental, was a guest blogger a while back, sharing his thoughts and expertise on mold. Good stuff to know about - NOT good stuff to have in your house.

Andy has started up a new blog on mold so I wanted folks to know about this for future reference. Stop by when you can and see what he has to say. And feel free to ask questions and leave comments.

A Great List of Blogs, in Every State of the USA

Robert Melton, of Pittsburgh Homes Daily blog fame, has compiled a great list of blogs, from every state union. What a great resource, and interesting reading!

Are you moving somewhere around the country (other than San Diego, then you are hopefully reading MY Fans of Coastal San Diego blog - sorry, couldn't help but do some shameless advertising)? You will find his list a great source of information. And if Pittsburgh is your destination, check him out (please tell him I sent you).

Jeff

PS - Oh, and BTW, I am very pleased that he has included me on his list. It's am impressive group of blogs.

Cool Informational Website

HOW DO I...?

I came across a cool website that offers consumer information on how to do just about anything - eHow.com.

I didn't find this on my own, but it was so neat that I had to share it, and want to credit Bruce Slaton, a real estate agent in Sacramento, CA for this suggestion.

Check it out.

There is lots of information on

  • cars (safe driving information, how to negotiate when buying and selling, auto insurance and financing)
  • food and entertaining (Want to make a special drink for your next party? Need some cooking tips?)
  • computers (operating system basics, the Internet, networking)
  • electronics (cameras, communications, handheld devices)
  • business and finances (insurance, investing, taxes)
  • home and garden (decorating, landscaping, home repairs and maintenance)
  • health (alternative health, diet and fitness, mental health)
  • travel (destinations, travel tips, transportation)

and much more. It's definitely worth a visit, and you might just find the answers to those plaguing questions. Let me know what you think!
