Should You Interview Your Buyer Agent?

Should you interview your buyer agent? As a REALTOR in Carlsbad that works with both buyers and sellers - yes, I think so.

If you are a buyer, whether  a first time buyer or experienced, read my posts on having a Buyer Presentation BEFORE you make the decision to hire that agent.

Good luck. If you have any questions, please let me know.

re: Should You Interview Your Buyer Agent?

Buying a home is probably the biggest purchase most people will ever make. I totally agree with making sure your buyer agent knows what they are doing before getting involved with them. It is important to know your Buyer Agent's skill level and dedication before going out and getting a property with them. Jeff, hopefully people take your advice before making the plunge and going with he first agent they meet.

re: Should You Interview Your Buyer Agent?

Thanks for your comments, Rocco. Working with the right agent is as important as being a good buyer. It becomes even more important for first time buyers who don't know what they are doing. The Internet (e.g., blogs such as this) provide good information to get started, but ultimately it is probably best to work with an agent, and the interview is part of that process ot make sure you are compatible and the agent truly wants to assist you.
