What is the best way to reply to a message from the community?

Date: Jan 15, 2008 4:47:58 PM

If you are replying to a post or a discussion from your e-mail inbox, it's best to use the 'Reply to Sender' and 'Reply to List' links within the e-mail rather than using the 'Reply' button in your e-mail client. Clicking the 'Reply' button in your e-mail client will usually append the entire html message of the previous post AND will not save the proper subject line, causing our moderators some extra work. If you are replying via the web, simply click the 'Reply' link at the end of the post you are replying to. Whether replying to a message from your e-mail or from the web, it is good practice to include a snippet of the text you are replying to, this way people seeing only your posting will better understand the context.
