Show Summaries Feature

While I enjoy most features, the Show Summaries feature is irritating because I don't really like something popping up in my face just because my mouse happened to be over something on the page and when I uncheck the box, it is re-checked whenever I come back to the main page.

As a suggestion, either make an icon I can hover over to get the summary, my personal preference, or when I uncheck the box, I never want to see a summary pop up again no matter what list of discussions I'm looking at anywhere, unless I recheck the box.
