Hi,

I would love to hear what is working well for other members who use Verizon service. I started with the treo 650 years ago when it was new and had nothing but problems.I then moved to the pocketpc 6600 which had a few problems and Verizon replaced it with the 6700. This one seems to have memory issues and I recently had to do a hard reset in order for the device to realize that it had memory. I have had it for 2 years and can upgrade again. I am very curious and waiting to see the Blackberry Thunder that is supposed to be coming out by the end of this month.

The one downside to Blackberry for me is that I currently sync everything my my company's server so I always have a full back up if I have to do a hard reset or my device has a problem. With Blackberry I can only sync emails to the server.

Have you had problems with your Blackberry? Which one do you have?

Have you used the verizon 6800 or 6900 pocketpc?

Thanks for the ino.

Lisa,

"One size does not fit all". No matter which phone you buy 5 people you talk to hate it 5 people love it. First decison is what does my phone need to do for me, make a list, then find the phone that meets your needs. In front of 100 people somebody always ask which is the best phone, I can not answer that question without knowing more about how you conduct your business. There are folks in this group with Palm OS, Windows and Blackberry, some are very happy, some would like to drop kick the phone into next week. If there was a "BAD" phone I would tell everybody, but there's not.

I use the Treo 680 and can get the most out of it with few problems.

Dick,

Thanks for the response. I use my pda for phone, email, calendar and contacts, tasks and notes. I use active sync to keep everything updated in outlook. I haven't used an appointment book in years.

I am interested mostly in hearing what other people have to say about reliablility and/or mechanical problems. I am really looking for dependability this time. For example, I like my pocketpc alot but it's volume isn't good without an earpiece. I have a 2nd phone that is just a litlle basic phone which I forward incoming calls to because the volume is better and it works with my car radio system. It would be nice to have a pda with good phone volume.

After a lot of comparing, and listening to a lot of Dick's advice, as well as reading posts, I got a Palm 755 w/Verizon, got Dicks CD, VolumeCare, and use it with Outlook. It works great, and I'm learning more daily.
I do want to submit that WHO you buy it from might matter as much as what you buy. Our local Verizon store is full of folks who practice "grumpy" daily on the way to work. But they don't know much either.
On the other hand, we have another Verizon vendor who has excellent local tech support, is very knowledgable on both Palm & Blackberry, and can help with features & add-ons. I also used Verizon support a couple of times, and found them quite good.
So before you decide which device to get...spend a little time researching WHO you can turn to when you need some help.
