It's interesting that many people come to the Outer Banks and to Northeast NC, not only for the beach, fun, and sun, but because of the chance to observe many of this areas natural wonders.

Fishing on the beach has been a favorite for many and it is one of the attractions that draws visitors to this area. For years the local governments and the National Park Service has allowed driving on the beach. Recently there have been concerns about the environmental impact of beach driving. Fortunately the government, the environmental organizations, and the local citizens wishing to preserve beach driving, have been able to reach a compromise agreement to continue to allow beach driving while protect sensitive environmental areas at the beach.

Now that's a great way for people to work together to solve problems rather than the typcial antagonistic approach we often see.
