Buddy Cage- Steel God

Buddy is a BRILLIANT, INNOVATIVE pedal steel player. I cant wait to see him play in person at the Rain Desert in Ct. for only the second time in 30 years. the first time was a NRPS show on Nov 9, 1974 in San Diego. Ive waited 31 years to see him play again. He has been my guitar hero since I was around 14. That is why Im traveling almost 3000 miles to see the New Riders of the Purple Sage Ride Again.David Nelson will be a thrill to see, also. Buddy, see ya there! Rick B.

Buddy's sound

Rick, I have to disagree with you re: Buddy being the only steel play distinquishable by sound.
I have been able to pick out Al Perkins' sound on any recording he's done with any one.

Buddy's Sound

That was my statement (Dennis). Al Perkins IMHO is a close second to Buddy on steel. Very distinctive sound. The Last of the Red Hot Burritos features some of the finest steel known to man. But I stand by my original statement. Buddy on say, Singing Cowboy and on I Don't Need No Doctor, add in to the mix Meet Me in the Morning from Blood on the Tracks. Totally different styles, yet unmistakably Buddy.
