This is an e-mail from our friend Bob from Reading, PA. He and some friends attended the Sellersville Show and was kind enough to send pics, setlist and observations from the Big Show. Being a theater show, it must have been very different from a bar / club show. First the e-mail, then set list. I'll start posting pics later. Oh by the way, Bob did a fantastic presentation with graphics and such, but my limited skills would not allow me to post it as it was. Thanks for all the work to make our little blog better. Sorry I couldn't do it justice.
Sunday night's show in Sellersville was excellent! More laid back than last
month at the Chameleon Club, but very entertaining none the less. (Take a
look at the attached file of pictures and set list I created from Sundays
show). We started out leaving Reading around 3:00 Sunday afternoon and
headed to south of Allentown for a cook out and tune up at Scott L's house.
None of us had tickets and we kind of figured it would not be a problem
since the venue was a theater and it was a Sunday night. So we had about a
45 minute ride to Sellersville from Scott's place after some cold beers and
grilled cook'n. We arrived at the show around 7:15, show time was scheduled
for 7:30. As we were parking the car we saw old friend Billy walking down
the street, after the initial hi-hello-how are ya, we told Billy we'd catch
up with him inside because we needed to go get tickets, that's when he told
us the show was "sold out"! We were pretty shocked and headed to the
theater where people were hanging out in front. There was one ticket
available from a guy that had an extra, and Scott Y. was the first to have
his money out. Great so now we only need 5 more. Me and Joey headed to the
ticket window to try our luck with the pretty young gal there. She said
your in luck, 4 just became available, I asked her if she could somehow
make that 5? She spoke to someone and sure enough we all had tickets! They
had set up some chairs in the aisle on the sides of the stage down front,
perfect - right where I wanted to be. What was really cool was the seats
were against the wall, so we could stand and not be in anyone's way, I
couldn't see myself sitting for a NRPS show. The show got started and I
found myself next to an attractive young lady and noticed that she had a
back stage pass. A few songs into the first set I said hello and asked if
she was with the band? I thought she may have been from a local radio
station or newspaper
.
(YA KNOW SHE REALLY AIN'T A GROUPIE,
SHE SAID SO IN A MOVIE, AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID TO ME)
She said "Yes, I'm Buddy's wife", I replied, "get the hell out, you look more like you
could be Buddy's daughter", she smiled and said that she was 35, and that I
was close to right because Buddy has a daughter that is 32. So it was my
luck and privilege, as she seamed like a very nice young lady, to meet the lovely Leslie. We chatted a little more and I told her I was a long time big fan of the band, she said she realized that.....maybe it was the way I was singing along to every song?
To cap off a great day, we found out that as were enjoying the show our good friend Gary was called to Albert Einstein (yes we know what E is for) Hospital in Philly and getting his long awaited liver transplant, Gary is doing well I'm told.......
(Gary is the fellow in the group shot from The CHAMILLION CLUB, far left with Mets Suck Hat. Lets all wish him the best, pray for him or what ever each of us does in this sort of situation.) DB
SOMEDAY SOON I'LL COME BY RIDING FROM BEHIND THE HILL I'M GONNA HAVE A BIG WHITE HORSE, SWEAR TO GOD I WILL.....
The band seemed to be enjoying the vocal audience and very much appreciated a Sunday night sell out. David and Michael both acknowledged the crowd on a number of occasions throughout the night. Rainy Day Woman was a very memorable performance with each band member taking their turn with the lyrics. Wonderful show, awesome venue, and a great band!
GOIN' DOWN TO SELLERSVILLE NOW THINK I'LL GO DOWN THERE
I'M GOIN' DOWN TO SELLERSVILLE GONNA GET MY SHARE.....
