Twitter Real Estate Marketing Tips (2) – How To Create A Twitter Bio That Sells! |
Throughout the "Twitter Real Estate Marketing Tips" post series, I will be discussing some proven Twitter marketing tips that Real Estate professionals can use to maximize their visibility, earn their network's trust and eventually attract more clients.
Today, I will focus on how to turn your Twitter bio into a client attraction magnet and will be using real bios for clarification.
What Makes or Breaks Your Twitter Bio?
- Here is a check-list of what it takes to create a Twitter bio that potential clients will love:
- Showcase your expertise, awards, certifications and so forth
- Your bio must be eye-catching and compelling. It helps to check out other Realtors bios for a healthy dose of inspiration. In addition, you may seek your friends' advice
- Your bio should include the keywords that people use to find you on search engines. Google uses your Twitter bio information as the meta description of your Twitter profile on search results. In addition, people can do advanced Google search to check certain keywords in the bio section. For example, if you are a Tucson, AZ based Realtor; a potential client may conduct the following Google search to find you: "intext:bio * Realtor Tucson" site:twitter.com . That's why; it is very important to include search engine friendly words in your Twitter bio. However, do NOT overuse keywords on the expense of interesting content.
- Finally, your Twitter bio must be friendly to invite people's trust. It is a great idea to share some of your hobbies, information about your family, the charity organization that you support and so forth
Examples Of Poorly Written Bios:
"Real Estate Agen." This bio is too short. The Realtor could have added much more info but s/he didn't! The coming one represents the opposite extreme but is still a law-quality bio:
"Real Estate and Homes for Sale. Realtors, MLS, Relocation, Foreclosures, Short Sales, Property, Condos, Rentals, Land." In this bio, the Realtor provided too much information about his services and ignored the fun and friendly part that people love to see on social media.
Examples of excellent Twitter Bios:
"Phoenix Real Estate Broker, Blogoholic, friend, husband and father. My wife rocks."
This bio is awesome as it combines professionalism with humanness.
(Jay Thompson is a highly regarded Realtor and his blog ranks # 1 on Top Real Estate blogs. Our partner recently interviewed him and he shared a true story of how to find Real Estate clients using Twitter. I invite you to check it out. It is loaded with excellent tips and insights).
"I'm a REALTOR, seeker, writer & artist. I work with Buyers & Sellers of Residential property in Tucson AZ, for Old Adobe Realty. TAR 2009 REALTOR of the Year."
John's bio is the perfect combination between showcasing professional expertise/awards and sharing some hobbies. The bio includes excellent keywords including his location which maximizes his chances of being found via search engines
"President Tucson Chapter Women's Council of Realtors. Work with both Buyers and Sellers. Enjoy travel, photography, great wine, networking and dancing."
Another excellent bio that combines professionalism with hobbies. You got the drill!
Stay tuned for the upcoming post in the series as I will be sharing more Twitter clients-grabbing tips. To your success!
