Dyersburg wins plaudits for Economic Development |
Two recent events underscored the success of the Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce and business/civic leaders in their efforts for economic development. First, the Industrial Asset Management Council's Site Selection magazine added Dyersburg to their Top 20 for economic development in the entire country, placing Dyersburg alongside much larger communities such as Dallas, Houston, Memphis, Omaha, and Saginaw, MI. Chamber President Allen Hester remarked "When the results of our efforts are comparable to, and exceed much larger organizations in our country, it goes to show that we're serious about our commitment to growth and prosperity in Dyer County".
Secondly, on May 8th, Govenor Phil Bresenden visited Dyersburg for the offical opening of the new NSK Steering Systems facility in the North Dyersburg Industrial Park, joined by NSK executives including Mr. Mitsuo Degawa, Executive Vice President of NSK Limited, who travelled from Japan for the event. Both Gov. Bresenden and TN Development Commissioner Matt Kisber applauded County and City Mayors Richard Hill and John Holden, as well as Chamber President Allen Hester, and many other civic and business leaders for their commitment to bringing new jobs and opportunity to the area.
In additon to demonstrating the commitment to growth in Dyersburg, both plaudits show once again that Dyersburg is a healthy and gorwing community to make a home, invest, or place your business.
