Cochise County Arizona Real Estate

Oct. 17, 2007

Here in the scenic and serene Sulphur Springs Valley we've not been tremendously affected by the recent turmoil of the real estate market. Since we didn't really have the "feeding frenzy" that ran up prices in parts of the country, we haven't really have the severe price reductions that those same parts of the country are seeing now. Having said that, we do have many great deals on land and investment properties right now. One example is the 180 acre parcel consisting of five seperate parcel id numbers that the seller has discounted at $399,900 cash. This property is a tremendous value for our area, especially since it is already split into five parcels.

Many feel like the Sulphur Springs Valley has been the best kept secret in Arizona. We are a growing yet still mostly rural area classified as a high-elevation, semi-arid grassland. Due to our elevation of between 3500 and 5500 feet, our climate is typically mild year round. The northern edge of our valley is bordered by the Dos Cabezas Mountains and the town of Willcox. To the east are the amazing sky islands of the Chiricahuas, where you can find animals that live nowhere else in the United States. The Swisshelm Mountains are to the south and the popular Dragoon Mountains, where the famous Cochise Stronghold still hides the body of the great Apache Chief Cochise, are along the western edge.

This area is rich in history, blessed with gorgeous valley views, mountain vistas, an amazing array of wildlife and is primed for growth. The community of Sunsites has seen recent activity in the way of a newly refurbished golf course, new restraunts and shopping, and plans for new expanded sewage and water treatment plants. Near the Dos Cabezas Mountains are a variety of orchards and a flourishing vineyard area. In fact, the entire valley is dotted with orchards, vineyards and farms producing a wide variety of produce.

Investors have discovered our little piece of paradise because our land is plentiful and still cheap in comparison to other parts of the country. We are seeing an ever-increasing number of retired people as well as families moving into our area to escape the frenzy of life in the larger cities like Tucson and Sierra Vista. While we are just about an hour from both these cities, it feels like a whole other world.

Thanks for reading this entry about my area, and feel free to contact me or make comments if you would like additional information on the area or in the property we have available. Of course, we welcome the opportunity to co-broke with other licensed Arizona real estate professionals and we offer referral fees to those licensed in other states.
