Eco-Friendly Real Estate

<p> I have just completed the National Association of REALTORS GREEN Designation training in Orlando FL and am now a Foundation member of the NAR&#39;s GREEN REsource Council. </p> <p> I strongly recommend this educational training for all Realtors that well be coming to your local Real Estate Associations in the near future. This new paradigm is going to become more important and is a way of life in both our personal life and our real estate practice. </p> <p> Education and learning is a life long process and is the only way to grow. </p> <p> </p>

<p> Hello all..Thought I would share our exciting news in Steamboat. We&#39;ve just become the first city in the nation to consider LEED gold certification such a public benefit as to provide variances and approve a new residential, mixed-use development in the downtown area. Ironically when City Council made the decision to approve after a year long application process by the developer, they had no idea that they were entering new territory. We are very excited (as is the developer!) to see how far our community is coming in the sustainability world! </p>

<p> I recently started my own company, House Kick Realty out of Southington, CT, and purchased a SMART Car to have detailed for advertising. You can&#39;t imagine the people that gawk and ask questions. I stopped at a FSBO and the guy that answered the door was loaded off his butt, comes stumbling out of the house and jumps in the drivers seat (I had left my door open). Scared the heck out of me, I thought he was going to take off in my car. Anyway he was so enthralled with this car I thought I might get the listing -----then he mentioned his brother owned the house. Not to beat the poor guy up but I can see why his brother wants to sell the house. Anyway, any other GREAT ideas for advertising. I need to get the business coming in. </p>

<p> What a brilliant idea! Kathy Washienko started doing climate kits for her family. Then people were contacting her to get more. <p> I&#39;m looking to create a supportive group with going green that will benefit our customers and of course the environment. If you have any interesting details, please post.
