Is the Floyd Wickman Smart program worth the time and money in today's market 6/2009?

What is the exact cost and what do you get?

How is this program different from Mike Ferry?

Trying to get started in Real Estate in Houston texas area I need accountabily and scripts program to help me. Any recommendations?

I can't speak to whether the Floyd Wickman program is good or not, but I just joined Dirk Zeller's Real Estate Champions Personal Performance Coaching, and my first session is tomorrow. I'm fortunate in that my personal coach will be John Gualtieri, who is their Director of Coaching, and I'm looking forward to it.

I've previously been through Craig Proctor's Coaching and Grad programs, and found them to be extremely valuable in terms of marketing and lead generation, but I don't feel that the accountability was there and there isn't a whole lot of focus on scripts and dialogues. That's in no way meant as a criticism, just that I am someone who needs a lot more in the way of accountability and follow-through. I feel that the REC coaching will be a great complement to what I already know, and will help me to bring some discipline and stability to my practice.

My advice would be to track down a copy of Zeller's The Champion Real Estate Agent book and read it through, cover-to-cover. It's sold in book stores (and probably available at your local library as well), and for $24.95, it's a lot cheaper than investing in a program without really knowing what you're getting into. For what you say you are looking for, you might find it to be a good fit. And then if so, you can either buy some of his audio programs, or join his coaching program.

Also, I applaud you for thinking about coaching. You will find people on here who swear by coaching, and plenty of naysayers as well. Make the best decision for yourself, and whatever program you choose, go for it 110% and work hard. You'll reach your goals if you do.

This is not an answer to your question about Wickman's course (although I highly recommend his SweatHogs "Star Development Course" which I completed back in the 80's) but since you are trying to 'get started' in Houston real estate, I would strongly suggest that you get an online presence ASAP. Since you didn't add a website in your signature and Googling your name came up with no site as well, might I suggest you sign up with a Standard P2A site and buy a domain name that is a reflection of your marketing area. Stay away from using a franchise name in your domain since you may not always be with that particular franchise. If you feel that you will be settling in the Houston area for many years, you might want to consider purchasing one of the following domain names which are all currently available. Having "Houston" in the URL will be a definite plus towards future SEO. These were just a few that came up doing a quick search:

DwellingsHouston.com (currently at auction but available cheap)
HomesInHoustonCounty.com (currently at auction but available cheap)
HoustonTexasCommunity.com (currently at auction but available cheap)

For less than $150, you would have your own website on the Internet for over a year along with your very own URL. (P2A = $120 plus URL $10 total = $130 )

If you have a website already, please disregard this post,
