I thought I would share this gem with the group. In my quest for an e-mail drip campaign company I came across a company called aweber.com. Like a lot of companies, they claimed to have a free test drive so I had someone sign up.
What a joke! This is not a free test drive; instead you unknowingly signed up for their series of spam. We called and spoke to a manager (Jeff?) who told us about their "60 billion customers and their stellar reputation". Ha!
http://www.aweber.com/ (in case they change their website, I have a screen shot)
I'm not saying the product isn't good, but frankly I would have no way of knowing since I'm not handing over a credit card for a FREE test drive.
BTW, I do give them credit for coming up with the idea, but it's pretty lame. I had suggested they simply indicate on their "FREE Test Drive" that the recipient would be getting a series of e-mails. They didn't like the idea (probably because they would get less sign ups).
BTW2 - Supposedly we are removed from their spam list...time will tell.
