Mark Twain said: "The man who doesn't read the newspaper is uninformed. The man who reads the newspaper is misinformed." Today we would have to add the various forms of news media.

Cannot make decisions that will affect your life, business, family or anything else based on the news media.

Check out what the candidates VOTE for-not what they SAY they will stand for.

I have heard McCain correct a rowdy crowd and say Obama is not an Arab or not a Muslim. Each biased news source will edit it for their particular spin.

I would never vote for anyone who was pro-abortion, let alone fine with letting babies just die if they survive an abortion procedure. That is murder. It shows, without a doubt, a distinct disregard for human life. I start there. That eliminates Obama up front. Even Hillary & Ted Kennedy voted for the protection of infants in such a case.

Then I decide what Kind of judges this person will appoint. In spite of what people think, judges caused the Roe v Wade to become law-not legislators. Judges have caused many of our issues-even increasing taxes in a state where the people voted against them. Judges-not legislators-have made many laws that have resulted in the moral decline in this country.

This country was started-in part-because of taxation without representation. I want strict conservative judges who will stick with the constitution as it is. It was put together by far more intelligent people than we have available now. This government was founded on Biblical principles. Don't even go there, Paul, you are WRONG about this.

A terrific informative website to visit for anyone who would like the TRUTH about our history is www.WallBuilders.org Forget the spin the public school system puts on our history resulting in the awesome ways God protected our beginning.

As it appears now, it won't be long before churches have to go underground. There have been over 40 arrests in this country for people praying-in a school, on the street, handing out tracts, playing their Christian music in a park, etc. And this is America??? It is increasingly Anti-God and Anti-Semitic. If you don't know this you are very uninformed and misled.

We must vote and vote wisely. Vote the Bible.

I have heard Obama slip-without a script or teleprompter-and say McCain has said nothing about his Muslim faith. He was corrected. And that he will campaign in all 57 states. Islam has 57. I have never slipped re. my denomination. What is he hiding? And I don't care if he is Muslim or not Muslim, but I am certainly suspicious of his ability to tell the truth. He votes opposite of what is coming out of his mouth. He says he is Christian, but makes fun of the Bible. And this is just the surface of this very smooth-talking, charismatic individual.

I am with Bona. If you want a Socialist government-move to a Socialist Country.

I want the Republic we started with-a country "of the people, for the people, by the people". This was the platform of the Republican party-less government, less taxation. Freedom-real freedom.

Jaunita,

Thanks for the best post I have seen in days, maybe weeks.  I had PROMISED myself I would do no more posting and I would read RT spearingly for the next two weeks, but since yours came up first tonight I glanced at it briefly and then was compelled to read on.

I was just talking with a friend and mentioned this very thing.  Its a deal breaker for me... infanticide is murder.   Pro choice will never go away in my opinion but to abort life sustaining babies and leave them to die  is outrageous.

I am involved in a rescue group for abused and abondoned Boxer dogs.  I have one myself and I foster one taken from an abusive terrible environment.  ..and I must admit with some amount of shame and concern that these helpless loving creatures are treated and cared for far better than our human little babies.  So far this year we have saved almost 300 dogs from euthenasia here in Arizona alone, and we have over 50 in foster homes and almost 50 between caring pro bono vets and kennels..  What does that tell you??

I also believe that the appointment of Supreme court Judges is critical... I thought a safety net was that they had to be approved, but since it appears we will have a super majority in both house and congress we would have little hope.  At the very least everyone, PLEASE, look at the person, the Man, and what would the person be like that he appointed as a Supreme Court Judge?  Want Rev. Wright??

Thanks so much to Saul and John... you guys are a rock..  I don't know how I ended up on RT awhile ago, but it is my pleasure and something I look forward to even though we have had a long last few weeks here.    I am with several others who decided to hit the delete key for the next couple weeks.. it was just too much overload but  I got enough information to be more informed than almost everyone around me..))  Thank you Paul and Win and Tom and Leo and Eileen and even Bona and Lindy and  Glory Bee..... on and on.  I don't agree with all of you but it made me more informed and much more certain who I was going to vote for and it isn't the FAR LEFT.

Happy Election Everyone... may the best man win!!   After the clinker that Biden and Frank spewed out today and  Sunday I hope the RNC and McCain/Palin  can   step up and do what they need to do.

Gloria

I think it is very legitimate to base a vote on the state the country is in now, compared to where it was 8 years ago. If you think it has done good things in the world and promoted the health and welfare of American citizens and our position in the world then vote to have the Republican party continue down the road we are on.

If not, vote in such a way that the direction can be changed. Change can not happen without changing the party in power.

this is America??? It is increasingly Anti-God and Anti-Semitic...from Juanita.

Please, explain or give me some examples that you've found of anti-semetic behaviors,
as that term has a more specific meaning than I believe you're using. Thanks.

Just FYI Paul, the Democrats are the majority party in both houses of Congress so would we need to change them too in order to qualify for your definition of change???

Just curious.

Fran says: Do you include the House and Senate in your asking for change? Careful...remember
the Dem's have a majority in those bodies. Bet Nancy Polosi and Harry Reid would not be too
happy with that action. They've had control for the last two years but take responsibility for none
of our problems.

Anti-Semitic incidents/attitudes? Check out www.ADL.org While incidents were down, anti-semitic attitudes are on the rise.

AND you can add Christianphobia or Christianityphobia to that.

Should Islamic nations lay down their weapons, there would be peace immediately. Should Israel lay down their weapons, tomorrow there would be no Israel. Israel is our only real ally in the middle east. We need Israel for many reasons and Israel needs us. I pray they have sense enough to ignore the US when it demands giving up more land.

In wartime to fraternize with the enemy is treason. I feel that for Carter and Obama to be willing to talk with sworn enemies of the US without pre-conditions is such an act. We ARE at war.

But then again, maybe they just do it out of ignorance.

Of course it is legitimate to base your vote on what has happened in the
last 8 years... first of all, not including what has happened in the last 8
years in your decision would be like forgetting to account for the state of
the housing market in your current promotional plans...

And second, many new voters would not remember much else, as their young
lives have not been long enough to know what happened much before that...

Why, has someone said it was a bad idea? Nonsense.

Have a great day!

Of course the Democrats have only held a majority for the last two years of
the eight... and that majority is inadequate to pass legislation that does
not also get some republican support as well, and certainly if Bush vetoes
the legislation the Democrats do not have enough of a majority to pass the
legislation... so no, in my view, the Democratic Congress has not had the
chance to show their mettle as yet... they need a larger majority... and I
hope they get it, so at least we can see how they run things, as compared to
years of a Republican Congress and a Republican President.

That is how I see it, Jim.

Have a great day!

The Democrats have held majority the last 2 years, and they have done nothing really, except further divide the country. Actually, I guess do noting legislatures are sometimes a blessing.Saul

I thought I was going to stay out of this but from what I read, you seem to
believe the Dems have not had a chance to show their metal so it's all the
fault of the Reps.

Let me ask you a question.

If Obama gets elected, who will be running the country for the next 4 years.

Let me give you some choices:

The majority leader of the House - Harry

The majority leader of the Senate - Nancy

The President of the United States - Obama

If I was a betting man, and I am, Obama would not be the one I would bet on.

Nancy, if things go the way they seem to be going, will have a veto proof
Senate. Will Obama veto a piece of legislation sent to his desk by Nancy?
Sorry, I just cannot see that happening.

Sure Nancy, Harry, and Obama will talk to each other by bipartisan
legislation will not happen.

A vote for Obama assures will guarantee us the most liberal 4 years this
country has ever seen. Our tax laws will be based on redistribution of
wealth so those with wealth will use the tools readily available to them to
shelter their money and prevent the redistribution.

Small Business, ones like ours, are the employers in this country yet their
taxes will go up just about the time they have an opportunity to contribute
to job growth.

Capital gains taxes will go up. Do you really think the rich will pay
higher capital gains taxes or will they too find a way to shelter their
money and keep it out of the overall economy?

A vote for Obama will put Nancy and Harry in charge of this country. Ted K.
will be given the task of creating a new Health Insurance program and he
will spend his dying breath (no pun intended) spending what ever it takes to
get that done. No matter what it looks like when it comes out of committee
it will get passed by both Houses and placed on Obama's desk. Do you think
for one minute that he will veto that bill even if he himself thinks it
sucks?

A vote for McCain will provide a little balance.

Me thinks I will vote for McCain, he has earned a shot at running this
country, Obama has NOT.
