I've been reading and watching the various threads about Foreclosures with interest. I hope you all know that there's a new 1 day course (elective) through REBAC called, Foreclosure Opportunities for Buyer-Clients. It was just offered to instructors last year so you should begin to see it in various places around the country. I'm one of the approved instructors and will be giving the course at the end of September here in PA. You can check out where the course is being offered at www.CourseCalendar.com. Some of the topics include: understanding the foreclosure process, counseling buyer-clients to help them avoid foreclosure, tapping into the foreclosure market for the benefit of your business and buyer-clients, spotting opportunities in pre-foreclosure workouts, working with REO in pre- and post-foreclosure--to name a few.

Everything that you read, hear/see on the news and from "people" makes it a very big topic. One of my buyer clients asked me recently if they should buy a foreclosure--some well intending person suggested it. In PA it only takes an average of 9 months from the time the lender files for the loan to be foreclosed. And then, who knows what you'll find once you get the keys.

Isn't it interesting that the market continues to drive our business--changes in practice like the use of an escalation clause in a hot market, to understanding and working with foreclosures, pre-foreclosures etc. Never dull in our profession. May the educated continue to prosper.
