Some will tell you they are working with an agent so you don't try to become their agent. It appears some buyers think they aren't suppose to admit they are working with another agent because you may get upset. I always ask if someone is working with another agent but I always explain the reason I ask is because I don't want to "step on anyone's toes." I let them know if they are working with another agent that I respect that agent's position. I always treat people with the same respect and degree of service. I also give my established clients (buyers) a hand full of my cards, knowing they are going out of their own, and ask them to please tell agents holding open houses that they are indeed working with someone and give them my card and also include me on guest sheet. I've learned that all agents don't ask and assume the walk-ins are theirs for the taking. Verna L.
