FYI - With the new interior fluorescent bulbs, there is a growing concern about the mercury content and what happens at the end of the bulb life. They should be recycled but they are often broken into regular trash exposing the mercury to the environment. As the use catches on, and quantities increase, it will create a different environmental hazard than the current more popular incandescent bulbs.

Why not give a Lowe’s gift card and let your buyer be excited about the card and their own purchase choice.

I give a personalized "moving survival basket" that includes the keepsake of an engraved door nameplate, my preferred home service provider booklet, and the mundane items that every homeowner will need on moving day: coffee cups, indiv coffee bags (since they can't find the coffeemaker), tea bags, sugar, sweetner, creamer, styafoam plates, cups, bowls, silverware, cereal, a pizza delivery certificate, a candle, matches, snacks, colas, toilet paper, paper towels, chocolate candies, napkins, popcorn, etc. They love it! I take a first meal to them and sometimes throw a neighborhood party a few weeks after closing. It's the personal touch that counts.

Just a side note to the Lowe's sugggestion, if you go on their website they have  a realtor program that allows a mail out of material and includes a 10% discount card that you can give to your customers when they list with you also, rather than just a gift certificate when you close with a customer.  Great promotion (you can find out all about it on their website) and the best thing is it's FREE!!

Editor's Note
We receive a lot of positive feedback on the free Lowe's REALTOR Benefits program. Give it a try http://Lowes.InternetCrusade.comJohn
