I went to the website : http://objflicks.com/WhenLifewasInBlack&White.htm%20
but did not go through the whole of the opening page but it did bring to
mind a couple of other shows - Our, Miss Brooks, My Little Margie and I
think Betty White had a show as well at this time.

I wonder how many real estate agents are out there that remember Out Door Toilets?

ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you ever seen that picture where they have a picture of a nice brick home in the 50's erra listing the price (I think around $50,000), then the next frame is a wood siding home in the 60's erra for the same price, then the next frame is an RV in the 1970's for the same price, then the next frame shows an outdoor toilet in the 80's for the same price.   It just goes to show you that the more time passes, the less you can buy with your dollar.

Actually, I myself remember those days.  I was very young.

My father purchased a little home with 2 acres in the country for $4,000 in the early 1970's.

We worked with what we had back then.  He quickly worked to add on to the home.  He built an addition with another bedroom, a bathroom, and a laundry room.

The only plumbing the home had was the kitchen.

A few years later, he sold the home for $14,000.  The last time I checked the home sold for somewhere in the range of $50,000.
