Forward Select Messages To Phone Using Rules Wizard

Some of this was mentioned elsewhere, but not with this twist.

You can send email as a "text message" to a cell phone. I'll list the format for the various cell carriers at the end of this post.

With that in mind, you could use the Rules Wizard in Outlook to forward email from certain senders to your cell as a text message.

The downside is that the number of characters texting will allow is limited. For my carrier, Verizon, I believe I am limited to 160 characters (spaces are counted as "characters" too).

But, for those that don't get email sent to their phone, they would at least have an alert that an important email was waiting for them, and a limited preview of it's content.

where phonenumber = your 10 digit phone number (no dashes)
