First post as a new e-PRO!  (still feel dumb as a rock somtimes though)

OK so I have my permanent e-mail set up through GODADDY.  walter@walterjoneshomes.com

Up to this point I have just managed my GMAIL account through GMAIL but I need to start learning Outlook.  Do I need to learn Godaddy mail or just start forwarding everything to Outlook and start that learning curve.

SO MUCH INFORMATION.  I need to learn one thing at a time though THIS I KNOW.

Thanks!

Walter, We use Godaddy our website http://onecall.realtown.com and we also use Godaddy for e-mail garrie@makejustonecall.com.

You would do well to use Outlook for e-mail primarily,  as Godaddy does not store anything for you. Use Godaddy to get e-mail from the web, when you don't have access to Outlook, but be sure to mark it as Unread after reading it. That way it will be in your Outlook where you can manage it as you see fit.

Good luck

You can have Outlook download your mail from each of those servers. I would look at the provided software however, because you may need to check for trapped spam from time to time. I also prefer to leave a copy of my mail on the server so I can check it from anywhere, not just the one computer. If you need help with this, I produced a instructional pictorial that I have provided to over 800 members to date that I will gladly send you if you email me directly.

I think you should forward your mail to the program you use. Don't bother learning Godaddy mail if it's not giving you something the others don't.  I've been using Gmail for several years now, and have it set up to automatically tag incoming items and use it for almost anything people use outlook for. The only thing I've found Outlook does that I can't do in Gmail is filing incoming emails. It will tag them, but I still have to see them and wade through some of the mess.

I really like Gmail's response time (much faster than Outlook), huge storage space (currently 6959 MB), and reliability (I don't worry about backups). I also use Gmail's online calendaring, photo sharing and document management.

On the other hand, I rarely work offline, so I don't need local copies of everything.

This is my last post as a non e-Pro.........yes, I am doing the last assignment prior to taking the final exam.   I have lots to do........and have to put all this good information to use.     From what I know about Godaddy, you can get a permanent email address at no cost and forward to any email address that you are currently using.    My problem is this...........how do I get the return address to use my permanent email address?    or is this not possible without purchasing full email rights?  Also - I've just purchased MSOffice 2007 and need to learn Outlook.   I currently have an awesome email software package with my broker, but may not  want the permanent ties linked to the broker's account.

Thanks,  Trish Shores (almost e-Pro)  mailto:Patricia@ShoresRealtor.net
