No, Microsoft isn't cancelling Hotmail...just access to it if you use Outlook or Outlook Express to access your Hotmail account. Hotmail users can still use hotmail.com to send/read email as always.
So, don't panic...Hotmail is staying with us.

I just bought a new computer and it has Vista installed on it. I installed my 2003 office suite and it is working great. My Outlook program allowed me to select "Hotmail" as a new email account ( I have a paid "Hotmail" account) but instead of the messages going into my New Mail it created a new folder. I haven't found a way to delete the emails from the hotmail account once they are downloaded into Outlook but there might be a way. Lots to learn with a new system.
