I recently started using Fastmail for IMAP e-mail service. I reviewed many of them, but decided on fastmail because of the reviews it receives from the e-mail community, and because of the price. For an IMAP account with way more bandwidth and storage capacity than I need, I pay 3.95 per month. It will reach out and grab all your Yahoo and other accounts, and can be used to send e-mail which looks like it came from those other accounts.

The downside is, there is virtually no support. There is a large FAQ section, and there is an e-mail forum, but you are somewhat on your own. You can't believe how good it feels to be able to read my e-mail from outlook at home, outlook in the office, my laptop, AND from the web interface. Most excellent.

One drawback to their offering is that it only has one auto responder... but for listings and other specialized responses I just set up a rule in Outlook and leave one computer on. Just google fastmail.

Hi George Belleville,

I know how good it feels to be able to read my e-mail from anywhere there is internet service, I use Comcast's email and that is of course web based email. I am just starting to use Outlook on my new home computer, I like it because of all the great features I don't have with Comcast email, but my question is; how do I check my Microsoft Office Outlook email from other locations? Am I locked into only checking my Outlook email from this one computer? I guess I just don't know enough about Outlook yet. I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out.

Hi George,

Fastmail for IMAP, how did you do your research, and where does the fast mail get the addresses? Do they target people who advertise for housing?

Thanks,
