I am a Milford CT real Estate agent just starting the process of looking for a 2nd home in Willmington VT. I was looking for some advice on any potential pitfalls of buying a home in Vermont. or that area any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

The home I looked at is 3 Bdrm 2 Bth on 42 acres for 394,000 the land is flat but not cleared and the house is dated but setup well.

I lived in VT for over 25 years and about 4 years ago moved to NC.  My only suggestionn is examine the tax structure very careffully as this is why ost people leave the state. Taxes are differant if it is a primary home or 2nd home. Also there are what we used to call Gold Towns and I do not know if where you are looking is one ot not. We lived to Stowe and that is a Gold Town.
