Hi Susan!

That is what is frustrating to me about Facebook. I want to delete posts with certain themes or language. I am not fond of all the game things, either. I like to SEE what my friends are up to. I have no desire to participate in games and these posts take up a lot of room-visually. I would like to be rid of them. I have posted already a couple of times that while I have time for my friends, I do not have time for the games and can't do them with them.

This hiding EVERYTHING someone should want to post is a problem for me, too. I have searched and searched and cannot find a way to delete individual postings.

HOWEVER, I looked for the post I referenced at the start of this thread, and it is GONE! So-how does THAT happen-if things are supposed to "be there forever" AND I have not been able to delete individual posts???? I did not do it. I was going to write her regarding that post-sending it as a comment to that post, and it disappeared.

Anyone know how that came about OR how to delete individual posts? I did sign up for the "petition" to restore back to the old Facebook look. Whatever it was, if it allows individual deletions-I am on board with it.

Yours to Count On!

Actually, Juanita, Facebook messages do an "auto-purge"... on mine, seems to be around every 20 days, that happens to be one of the reasons I'm not too keen on Facebook.

There is a way to change the display, which tends to eliminate much of the game stuff... try switching back and forth to see which you like best.
This info was given to me by a Facebook friend, I am certainly no expert, and I depend upon others to keep me up-to-date.

actually, I did it, and I'm not sure which I prefer... I switched back & forth, and they both seem acceptable...since I'm not on FB much, I didn't even know it had changed..

For everyone who hates the new FB layout ... there's an easy fix. :) -- On the menu at the top left, click on MORE. Then drag STATUS UPDATES to the top, above NEWS FEED. After dragging to top, click on it. That becomes your default and HOME is like before. Pass it on.

Hi Juanita, you can hide the game updates... when your cursor hovers over the game, click on "hide" and then select "hide games". The "hide" button will appear in the upper right of the box.

If you don't like a message that someone has left on your wall, you can delete that message. Just like the hide button, the remove button will appear on the right side of the box that your cursor hovers over. *You cannot delete messages on other user's walls or status updates that show up in your news feed.

I'm not an expert, but I don't think that FB does any autopurging. I can still access posts that are 5 months old. Have you guys tried scrolling to the bottom of your wall or news feed and clicking "Older posts"?
