Is there a way to get "support" on Facebook to ask questions? I have noticed some REALTORS have their business name under their name, and I cannot figure out how to do that. Anyone know?

Is it a good idea to have that under your name? It is a personal site, not a business one, so maybe that is not an option there?

Hi Juanita,

A couple of things.

One is you can join the "network" of your workplace or employer. To get there you can go to the settings link (next to the logout button along top). Go to account settings, then you'll see a tab for networks. If your brokerage has a network you can add yourself there.

Or you can go to your "info" (click on profile, then go to "info" and you'll be prompted near the top there to edit your info), you can change your employer there under "education and work."

Why make it so hard? Just create a folder in Outlook or IE with the office name and add all the office Realtors.
Most Realtors do not even use Facebook and nobody in my office.
Communicating to the outside world is a different story.

Ronny, she asked specifically how to add her company near her name on facebook. Not sure what you mean about outlook?

How interesting you don't know any realtors on facebook? I think almost every realtor I know is on facebook.

Maybe it is a local/regional thing, but I would say "most realtors" where I am do use facebook, twitter, and several other of the newer social media technologies.

My 2 cents:

I just went to a Realtor.com seminar yesterday. I always learn something from these sell meetings and this one was on technology. The speaker was saying we must all be on these social networking sites... its the future way of doing business. Well, maybe not so future, its right now. He said be careful about putting lots of listings on your facebook wall as this is a social event and it should show you're not just about selling real estate, more about being a friend and community person. He also told us we could make our own page or group and start your own community info. He also suggested using the group format not the page one. You have complete control over content, no one can take over the group or you can say bye bye.

Become your community specialist where the members become part of the community. Sounded like a great idea and I'm going to do that.

The numbers are rapidly growing here. Still the old timers who resist anything that requires change. I am on Facebook several times a day and use it for ads as well as networking in general. I'm very erratic when it comes to Twitter. My Palm Treo is not a good phone for twitter but when I upgrade I expect to do a lot more of it.

Included our broker we have 22 Realtors, 5 Lenders and two ladies, who are answering the phone and nobody use facebook, because they are all too busy. We are the number one office in Glendora in sales. I spend time on the RealTown list and the MBcoupes.com list and that is more then enough. I just lost offer 7 on a $910,000 home due to over bid and have to find another property. And I also do about 60 to 70 BPO's per month for BofA.
I use Outlook as my database and to contact my clients.
And last but not least I also work on a new website www.LetPicturesTalk.com
All the above is more then enough for a "retired" 73 year guy.

I have tried that myself. There is a help page that directs you to FAQ's, which seems to be the only place to find solutions. In the end, I found I could not find a solution or answer to my question. So for now, I only have a personal Facebook account with my friends and family and I have a professional one too- but those that sign up on the porfessional facebook, end up on my personal one too. It is a dilemna I'm working on and I'll continue to scroll through the answers to your question to hopefully find out. One idea I had was to take my friends and family and change my e-mail adress to a personal e-mail, and keep the 2nd Facebook account as the business one. We shall see if that works.

If you want to separate people into groups on FB, click on the Friends at the top of the page, in the blue bar, and then you have the option to add them to lists.
