So odds are, if you are like me, you have tons of friends on your Facebook that you don't have contact info for otherwise. Have you considered grabbing e-mail addresses from Facebook and adding them to your e-Newsletter database?
If I did print mail advertising I'd do this without question, but it seems a bit spammy to do it with e-mail. I have been posting a link to my monthly newsletter on my Facebook wall, but I don't know how many people are clicking on that. Your thoughts are appreciated.
An agent from Los Angeles friended me on Facebook. He then immediately started spamming me with emails about his webinars. He was immediately "un"friended by me. he will never receive referrals from me.
Post the links to your wall. Those who want to click the link and see more information will do so.
this is my first reply on this site as I am on my last part of my EPRO course!
I think facebook is for getting back in touch with people from our past.
I personally would not take people's emails and start sending them something that they did not ask for. Just imagine if everyone who had a service to sell started to do that. No one would want to go onto facebook anymore.
I agree with Don-post it on your wall-if they want it and want more information they know how to contact you.
This is my first time making a post as well. I am on the last leg of my ePro course and this is my last assignment. I have to say I agree with Margaret.
It is fraustrating to open your e-mail and get nothing but marketing material I did not ask for.
I am responding to Margaret Schickling's E mail regarding using your existing E mail contacts.
I have been struggling with the same dilemma. However I feel it's more important to let people know about your existence than staying in the background. While I agree just to use anyone's E mail can be abusive, if you turn your message around and make it an educational message, then it would be acceptable. You will have accomplished two marketing targets, 1st to get your name out and educate the public at the same time. For example: I have a listing that was "Green-built and has the Energy Award Certificate". The response to the MLS listing has not been active enough, so I created a simple flyer with the homes photo and letting the recipients know of a homeowner that has taken the first step in saving the environment; that will no doubt become a standard to building future homes. Result - I got the MLS listing information out there and at the same time gave a tribute to a seller that is environmentally thinking and proficient.

Post your url in a url shortening service. Post that link into Facebook. I use Bit.ly which tracks traffic. At least I can see how many people are clicking on the link. Works great! Have any questions, feel free to give me a shout. www.DowellTaggart.com

Actually, it wouldn't. Makes no difference. To quote Don Fabrizio-Garcia, "That would be spam. Don't do it. ".
