@Bob says,

"The MSDS - Material Safety Data Sheet - says "...Harmful or fatal if swallowed...:"

Just a minor point. Check the sentence after that one and also section 11. It the aspiration hazard that will get you. The product is not toxic.

We use WD-40 for de-icing the butterflies on the injectors to help prevent the throttle from hanging up (a definite problem with 2,200+ horsepower) and for cleaning Nitromethane out of the fuel lines, injector nozzles and fuel pump at the end of a race day :-)

LOL, I'll bet a lot of RTalkers will think you were actually referring to
"winged" butterflies! Don't forget, only a few of us are/were wrench
twisters.

Here is a Realtor's use, you know when a home has older metal clad doors and windows and they start to get a dusty old look, wd 40 will shine them right up again. An hours work and everything looks new again. Don't know how long it will last and the door people tell me there is no permanent fix but it will help them show better.

I am not a wrench twister but I assumed he was talking about butterfly valves.

Thanks Al, I just spent about 15 minutes looking at funny car video instead of working. ;-)

We used to go to the SummerNationals (to watch) in the 70s and early 80s. I do enjoy Pinks on TV these days.

The most amazing thing that I discovered with WD-40 was that it makes my fiberglass canoe look like new, and does the same magic with plastic garden-patio furniture (great for showings). I always carry a can to spiff-up my plastic real estate sign posts… Don't laugh … I have met two of my Buyers while putting up and polishing my own signs in a neighborhood … One Buyer purchased the home, on-the-spot, as I was putting the sign up … It closed for cash a week later! Thanks, WD-40

Maybe this is just a Texas thing, but I have always figured that I could fix just about anything with duct tape and two-part epoxy. I guess I'll have to add a third "tool" to my toolbox.

WD-40 uses have been circulating around in e-mails on and off for some time now. WD-40 can be used for a great many things. I have had fisherman tell me it is also a great on baits. I don't know whether FISH and Game would understand their reasons without citing them. I have always used it for multiple things and continue to use it. I would recommend it to anyone as a handy item to keep in case of hard to open locks, doors, gates, etc.
